It took 2 guesses this time. My fellow juror (who sits next to me) is named Steve Perry. His wife's name is Cherise or Sherry for short.

If the judge's name is Neal Schon, perhaps he should recuse himself. In spite of my love for rock 'n' roll, I'm not a big concertgoer. However, I have been to several concerts in my life. What was the first concert I went to? 1. Trace Adkins 2. Beatlemania 3. Blondie 4. Cheap Trick 5. Lou Christie 6. George Thorogood & the Destroyers 7. J. Geils Band 8. Jefferson Starship 9. Joan Jett & the Blackhearts 10. Rolling Stones 11. .38 Special 12. Uriah Heep 13. Yes

Blondie was actually the last artist I've seen live, to date.

HWW, Grand Jury doesn't have a judge. The Assistant District Attorneys present their cases (note plural) and we vote on whether there is enough evidence to go to trial.
Anyway, For my guess I'll go with someone who is fairly local to me.
7. J. Geils Band

Thanks for the correction (though it does spoil my Journey joke ). J. Geils was one of the first bands I saw -- they were riding high on the popularity of Freeze Frame -- but not the first.

George Thorogood & the Destroyers opened for the Rolling Stones, whom I saw in Dec. 1981 . . . nine months after my first concert.
I included three bands I've never seen live, and Yes is one of them. (The others are Joan Jett & the Blackhearts and Uriah Heep.)
As for Cheap Trick . . . they were supposed to appear in my hometown in Jan. 1981 but postponed so they could appear on the "Fridays" TV show. Even though I felt rebuffed, I did go to their show in March. Pete Comita was their bassist (temporary, as it turned out), and Robin Zander actually tossed a KISS record into the audience when he sang "got my KISS records out".
I remember all this because CT was, in fact, my first concert! (And, every time I watch "That '70s Show" and hear CT perform the theme song, I think, "Gee, I saw then back when!")
So, congrats, Kent! It's your turn.

okay, then...
Which of the following is not true:
1. I am currently house-sitting at a lakefront cabin 2. I've been offered a great summer job doing research 3. I am less than three weeks away from a trip to California 4. I have been driving a standard for the first time in about a decade 5. I have thus far been accepted at three out of four grad schools I have applied to start a PhD in the fall. 6. One of my professors who promised to write me letters of recommendation only sent one out, never got to the others, and never told me. 7. I went showshoeing for the first time a couple weekends ago. 8. I'm going to start going to a gym this weekend. 9. I've been struggling with writer's block. 10. I might be unable to legally enter the US in the near future. 11. I shaved my head yesterday. 12. I drank an entire bottle of Argentinean wine last night. 13. I drove in Toronto for the first time last weekend. 14. I will be presenting a paper at a prestigious conference this term.

11. No, did that! I look like Dev now. 6. That actually happened! And she ignored polite emails of inquiry on top of that! Luckily the schools were more professional than she, and we worked out alternate arrangements.

4. I've been driving a friend's car. A standard. Last standard I can recall was a rental in Scotland.... in 2001. 8. Nope; I am! and regularly, from here on.
