According to a little card I received from the SD folks, they open their hotel booking on 9AM Pacific Time on Wed., Feb 9th. The number is 1-877-552-6642 or if you go online, www.comic-con.org.

I'm not expecting much, but it's possible that if a bunch of us try it together, one or two of us might come up with something decent in the way of hotel rooms.

To be on the safe side, like others here, I've booked a room from Wed - Mon. Technically, it's for two people, but I'm sure we could get one or two more in there if we needed to. I don't know why I say "we", since I'm the only guy in it right now, but there you go.

Did anyone catch Jeopardy last night? The Comicon was referred to in a question/answer under the category, "Where In The world Is San Diego?"

So, Cali, are your roommates literally lesbians, or is that just your affectionate name for them? If the former, I guess you have to give a secret knock or something so as not to potentially disturb them if you've been out?

They're an actual lesbian couple. And I'm not too worried-- they're very sweet chicks. Considerate. They only want to corrupt me with Phoenix Wright, nothing more.

Actually, I thought it would've been funnier if it was a nickname! For example, I occasionaly refer to my office staff (not to their faces), including one male, as my "bitches". They're perfectly nice people who I can depend on and respect a lot, so the nickname is completely affectionate in intent.

Still no official confirmation, but they did cash the check today (well, it cleared today).

I think that's a good sign.

I got my 4-day ticket today. Still not sure about accommodations.

I am still a maybe. If I am in, then I will contribute to the table.

I was supposed to go on a cruise but that has just turned into big drama. I may chunk it all and go to comicon if I can find a room and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I can only afford to lose on of those.

I'm a bit concerned that it's almost 9 p.m. EST time the night before, and the full list they promise still isn't up.

They seem off in the scheduling this year.

In past years, I would have received an update by now that would list the relevant hotel info.

This year, nada.

Hmm, an hour to go and still no list. Last year, the online reservations stuff was all set up at least a week in advance, you just couldn't actually use it. What's going on?

Good luck, everyone! Even if you don't get a con rate hotel, there are lots (like mine) within easy walking distance that aren't part of the con conglomerate.

I did it! It only took a very frustrating 1.5 hours, but I got a hotel downtown (8 blocks away) for a decent rate. I didn't get my first, second, third, or even fourth choice, but it looks like a nice place, and it has shuttle service to the Con.

All-

A lot of places are already booked solid; while yet others are still open for Wednesdays and weekends - but NOT Thursdays or Fridays.

Be prepared to either hop from one hotel to another, or be 5+ miles away (old town or Coronado, or even further out), or else seek a place not in the official listings.

yeah what kent said,..i tried for 3 hours to get a reservation, they took my infor and i waited for it to confirm and it never did. it looked like the site forze. i called travel planners and they said they were booked solid,..so now i'm on the waiting list.

i got in, after a server crash, a substatial wait, and multiple browser windows. i'm going wednesday-sunday (if i can survive it).

Yay! Today I got my mailer from Comic Con advising me that housing reservations go on sale...yesterday.

I got my pass booked and a hotel. I'll be in town the tuesday before the con and leaving the monday after.....at least thats the plan so far.

Hey if anyone needs a roomie PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE!!! let me know? next year i'm gonna play it smart and book the room through the hotel way in advance!!

I hate to say this but I need to face the fact that Caroline and I stand a high probability of not making it this year. Especially now that rooms are way out of our price range. I know we have a few more months and I'll keep working on it but I'm not betting the house (which is the main reason we may not make it).
