Hmm, never introduced myself, either. I think I'll keep it that way. Somebody around here has to be a mystery. Welcome aboard, folks!

Welcome to all of you!
Tamper Lad, I'm sure you'd love the Spaceopoly Forum. We have tons of trivia games there.
SouthtownKid, that's pretty cool! It's always great meeting someone who's worked on the Legion. Nice work on the lettering.
KidMarvel, congratulations on kiicking your habit. You're a pretty strong guy.

I've spent the better part of two days at work going through these various boards. I guess I should at least make a formal presentation to the crew whose posts I have enjoyed reading! Real name: James Location: Washington, DC Age: Yes I've read the Legion off and on, and I have extremely fond memories of the earlier issues I stumbled upon: Supergirl was a member and Cosmic Boy wore the disco costume. I read pretty faithfully in the 80s, read the Great Darkness, got a little confused and distracted with what followed, watched the Earth destroyed (bad move, that), but then the reboot just did me in. I'm back now with the new series. Because of time and finances, I read comics selectively: my current titles include some of the Seven Soldiers series, LSH, Black Panther. I like the Justice Society but really want to limit my comic buying. I'm in grad school, and have a habit of collecting degrees. I'm on my third master's, this one in theology. I should be working on my master's paper (I graduate in a year, I hope) on Julian of Norwich, a 14th century English mystic, but right now I'm in lazy summer mood. I'm looking at the possibility of doctoral work in the future, either pastoral theology or church history, likely emphasis: patristics/early church. (Does the Legion need a resident chaplain?) I'm currently a librarian. My training was in rare books but now I work in digital information. Go figure. I've managed to get two boyfriends hooked on comics, but the current one isn't budging. I'm currently addicted to City of Heroes, and can be found almost exclusively on Pinnacle. I so enjoy some tabletop games, and I used to write for White Wolf (et al.). My favorite Legion heroes include Dream Girl, Karate Kid, Night Lass (for some reason--I think it is the jet black costume and bouffant hair), and the White Witch. Okay, I like a lot of them. Here's me: (if i can do this correctly) They're both within the past five years. I stopped having pictures made in the past couple of years. Gimme some time in the gym, and maybe I'll feel okay about pictures again :-P But school gets in the way. Actually, City of Heroes gets in the way of school, which gets in the way of the gym...yadda yadda

I certainly prefer being called a lifetime student to a professional student, like some people. Until I start getting paid for grad school--and student loans do NOT count!!--I'm not a professional student. That's why I need to get funding for the doc program.

Hi. My name's Raquel; I'm 31; I live in Florida but I hope not to live there much longer; I was a librarian for years, now I'm looking for a new direction in life.
I got into Legion through L.E.G.I.O.N., which is one of my favorite comics of all time, especially after Keith Giffen left and Alan Grant and Barry Kitson took over entirely.
I'm still catching up on the original book (I was on hiatus from comics until recently) but of the issues that I have, I like the ones from Volume 3 the best. My favorite of the original charcters is Shadow Lass.
The current comics I really like are The Rann-Thanagar War, The Return of Donna Troy, and the new Green Lantern ongoing. I'm still trying to make up my mind about the current Legion book, but I'm going to give it a few more tries.
My favorite non-DC book is The Avengers, not the current one, but a lot of the Roger Stern stories from the 80s and most of the Bob Harras stories from the 90s; I was thrilled to hear recently that Harras is going to be writing JLA.
My biggest non-comics obsessions are British cult singer Julian Cope and the TV show Alias.

Hi Stealth!
Hey, didn't we just have another Librarian join the boards?
This is starting to smell of conspiracy. I'd better check my overdues.

Hi Stealth!
You're going to find a lot of other Tasmia fans here too.
Btw, hope you find your new direction. Though I've heard that sometimes the search can be a lot of fun too.

Yes, I was one of the new librarians on board. I got my training in Rare Books at Catholic University (in DC) but now I work with digital information. *shrug* I like the older stuff better.
If I can't be the Legion chaplain (Cleric Kid!) I want to be the Legion antiquarian (Book Boy!).
And welcome aboard, fellow librarian! (Even if you're looking for a new direction. You might find that the mind of a librarian never fully leaves you. Look at Oracle...)

Hi Legion fans! I'm Paul and I live in Northern Ireland. I'm 41 and run a small comic shop combined with a music store. My first Legion comic was Adventure Comics #380 and, instantly hooked, I've followed the Legion faithfully in every series since then. Favourite characters have always been Ultra Boy, Sun Boy and Lightning Lad among the guys and Dream Girl, Princess Projectra and Phantom Girl among the gals. Always had a fondness for the Cockrum/Grell era but also dig the Earthwar run, Great Darkness Saga and the early issues of the Baxter run. Really enjoying the new series-and it's selling very well!! I read way too many comics, mostly DC, and favourites are pretty much anything Geoff Johns writes. Apart from comics I'm a big fan of Elvis , the Beach Boys and Bruce Springsteen. Also enjoy watching movies and quality TV (Lost, Alias, West Wing, Smallville). Look forward to joining in the fun here!! Cheers

Hi Paul, glad to meet another Beach Boys fan on the board, though I guess I'm mostly a fan of the era that ended with Pet Sounds. I haven't had much exposure to the later years.
Also welcome Graypilgrim and Stealth, glad to have you on board! This place is lots of fun and almost entirely full of nice people to hang out with.
