"weak and crystal SWJ generation", what a term. I really dislike these "generation wars" where we just insult everyone from a certain generation.

The couples I know, whether gay or hetero, fit a broad spectrum. I know a married hetero couple where the man is very slim with a high voice, and the woman has a deeper voice and is larger in shape. Even among gay couples I know, there are some where one is slimmer and the other muscular, where both are muscular, etc.

Real life gives us such varied examples of people and couples. Why shouldn't comics be the same? Apollo and Midnighter are both traditionally very masculine-appearing. I think it's great to see more varied examples in comic books.

EE, if you don't like it it's fine and your opinion. but I hope you will think carefully about the words you use. Slimmer men can also be handsome, they can be strong in another way. using words like ""weak"" and "pathetic" can be very hurtful.

The problem with this generation is that they think that their supposed truths are absolute and they do not respect people who think differently. That has a very ugly name ... which I prefer not to mention. And yes, I am old, but I have bought The Legion since the 60's and I have contributed to the group surviving all these decades. I have experienced the repression of being a gay person in a dictatorship and I really know what it is to be persecuted and humiliated. That is why I know well that all this feminist and gay community posturing only intends to divide generations and people. So all these young woke generation are not going to teach me. Have a little respect for your elders, that if it weren't for what we are fighting for, you would have no voice or vote.
And DC what they are doing now with this forced inclusion is destroying everything good, beautiful and heroic about superheroes

Empress:

Have you ever considered voicing your specific dislikes of a comic or character without... whatever all this is?

Thanks.

cleome55 : That same. I was expressing my opinion about a comic character that I did not like and giving my reasons ... and one person attacked me because I did not think like him ... It was just my answer

You went from disliking the look of a particular character almost immediately into a wholesale attack on an entire generation of people whose politics, aesthetics, and appearances don't please you.

That was uncalled for.

Somehow, everyone else in the thread managed to dislike or poke fun at the direction of the comic and some of Bendis' quirks without doing any of that.

I know English isn't your first language, but this is the LMB. It's not YouTube, Twitter, or Facebook, and there's just no call for that level of rudeness. I don't care if you've bought and supported the Legion comics for one thousand years. Please reconsider your tack and your tone.

Understood, now I know positively that this is not my place. Censoring and cutting off freedom of speech is the current problem that is dividing the world. Greetings to very friendly people I have met here like Blacula, Catonyx, Phantom Girl and many others who have already retired for the same reasons as me. I'll be looking for a group of true Legion fans. Bye bye.

Sentients! Part-time slip-shod half-assed Legion reader (and mod, somehow) Teeds here.

Though the forum rules link is in a new place (bottom left of the page rather than top right), the rules themselves have been around for a very long time.

First and foremost:

So this is what happens when I'm gone for a few weeks. Someone doesn't understand the difference between "being censored" and "utilizing tact when you speak."

Yikes.

Is the LSH coming back in (fill-in-the-date)?

We have had sixty-five years of the Legion, on and off, at least a half-dozen versions and re-imaginings, and literally hundreds of issues. With all the crossovers and specials, probably just short of one thousand.

But:

All the shine of a thousand spotlights
All the stars we steal from the night sky
Will never be enough, never be enough
Towers of gold are still too little
These hands could hold the world but it'll
Never be enough, never be enough, for me
Never, never, never, never, never, for me, for me
Never enough, never enough, never enough, for me, for me, for me

Next time we have a DC/Marvel crossover, I want it to take place in the Hostessverse

I've seen a few Facebook comments along the same lines. "This would be great, if..."

I also feel a bit apprehensive, though I guess what's the worst that could happen? As long as they don't kill or irreparably alter anyone... and even if they do, I'll just ignore it or fix it in my happy fanfic world (see: Kinetix and Legion of 3 Worlds lol)

That's the thing - will it even matter? I'm pretty convinced that this is the end result of all the teasing he has been doing the last several months. So, no ongoing, just a guest appearance a year after the title effectively ended.

Ooh, that would be a bit of a disappointment after the teases. I was thinking that JLA vs Legion would be used as a way of getting readers to jump onto a relaunched Legion book.

Nearly got excited when I saw Power Girl hiding in the background of that JLA pic but this is Bendis so it's just gonna be a page of someone saying "boobs" 48 times, isn't it?

As disappointing as it is not to have a regular Legion book, I'll take anything that helps to keep the Legion in front of the DC readers. It at least may wet the appetite of some, and if we have nothing it will surely continue to die a slow death.

Only sales may convince DC higher-ups to try again.

Heck, you never know, it might even be good. Miracles can happen.

Yep, I think this is where I'm coming down on this.

Hope for the best, expect the worst and hope that a ton of new readers love it and Bendis gets too involved in his other work to come back to the Legion.
