while looking through piles of crapy old pictures looking for me in my TMNT raincoat i found a card from my communion. in it i found a check for 30 and cash in the same amount in an old card that my parents said they put in my collage fund that turned out to be non existent when collage came around

i know i need to be saving money..but i kinda want to blow it on something. so what is awesome blow worthy and only 30 bucks? and it cant be something practical any suggestions interweb?

Go to a gas station type place and buy like 25 different really bad candies, pop tarts, funyuns and other junk food that is all like a $1.50 or less. Add in some scratch off tickets and lottery tickets.

You can occupy yourself for like an hour doing that!

Let's just say there was many a day in college where I had inhaled the wheezing mists and drank from the juices of the jungle, and had to figure out how to satisfy the hunger of Galactus with only like $6.30 to my name. Then, like the lost city of Shangri-La, I saw it: the gas station.

Honestly, given everything you're thinking through, I'd save it.

i feel like that money could have been put to better use at any point of my life rather then it just siting in a card.

what is worse is when i got the money there was a check with it for 30..so when i was given this gift i had 60...cut to now i only have have 30

im sort of bitter about it. on top of the fact my parents never let me have a cent in my childhood even if i earned the money. i mean it i once had a baby sitting gig from my people who lived next door for a year, my parents talked them into paying them instead of me 'cause i would waste the money if they gave it to me' and of the 500 i made. i saw only TWO DOLLARS of that.

and if the money had been going to that College fund like they told me over and over again. when the time came and i needed the money for school. there was no money put aside.

i never got to spend any money as a kid. this money could have helped so many other times in my life. i never got to buy any thing that would have helped me fit in with others braining me as the weird kid, i was never aloud to get new clothing, everything i owned was a hand me down.
fuck it i had to eat the same lunch every day for years a whole wheat bread with one piece of Salomi and mustered that was not kept cold. i get physically sick sometimes when i try to eat any of that

my family isn't poor to justify them taking the money cause they need it. they send my two younger sisters to private school. and they bought a second home in another state by the beach during my childhood

i see this money and think..for a month i could have eaten food i enjoyed at lunch.

it was wasted..i feel this 30 needs to be wasted

it's yours to do with as you choose.

if you blow it, your parents will rationalize everything they've done - they will see only justification for withholding your money and calling you irresponsible.

So either blow it without letting them know. Or save it.

and given the move you have been considering, it might be wiser to save it. You can always blow it later.
