Well, it's finally time to get a new scanner. (My old Mustek was still going strong, but I was forced to update to Windows 7, and the new computer doesn't get along with the old scanner. )
What's a good, no frills scanner that does line art well? I don't do anything fancy -- my art is basically black Sharpie on white paper. So far, I've tried the CanoScan LiDE 110, which was OK on photos but sucked on line art. It didn't even have a line art setting.
I don't need a lot of bells and whistles, just something that does photos when I need it and my artwork. Any suggestions?

Seymour, the Epson we use over here is older than dirt, but I've had good luck with it.
Your best bet might be to pop over to Amazon and look up a few key brands. See what other people like using.
Consumersearch and Epinions might be some help as well.

Mine is one of those HP printer/scanner combos. Works really well for my purposes, not that I'm making much art these days Posted by cleome on :
dadman, I recommend prolonged joblessness. It's done wonders for my artistic output.
