Doogie Howser! Lance Bass! Clay Aiken! Lindsey Lohan! Young Hollywood is breaking down their closet doors in droves!

Who will be next to reveal that he or she is a same-sex afficianado?

Some suggestions mixed with a little wishful thinking...

That High School Musical kid for sure.

there are three long time actors I am waiting for them to come out but probably won't happen....they are Scott Bakula, Tom Selleck and Corbin Bernsen....grrr. oh well. (yes they're married and have kids, so what?)

There are some actors I am soooo dying and very wishful to see them coming out - the guys who appears in Eureka (Sheriff Carter and the guy who wears beard - forgot his name - my mind blanks out - he sacrificed his life to save the town of Eureka at the end of the first episode this season before he was supposed to get married.).....and of course, Bobby Canavale!

*sigh*

Speaking of 'probably, but not officially,' that high school musical kid looks kind of like Jared Leto, to me.

Is Rob Thomas out? Cause watching Lonely No More and Ever the Same sure made me think so. (Great songs, also, and the girl at the party in the Uhura outfit in the first video? Awesome.)

I always thought that Richard Dean Anderson (MacGuyver) was suspiciously girlfriend-adjacent.

And Keanu Reeves, but that could still be residual trauma from watching My Own Private Idaho.

Re: Tom Sellack

I had heard the rumors about him being gay. However what made me think that he wasn't or at least not care one way or the other was his role inIn and Out. I mean if he was closeted, he would never have played the openly gay reporter. Especially given the gay rumors.

I'm gonna be shocked when legendary womanizer Cobalt Kid comes out of the space closet. And you won't even need the news media to know when it's happened. The collective screams of women all over the universe killing themselves in despair will be the harbinger of that event [Smile]

Except that, like Mr. Poe taught us, the best place to hide is in plain sight. I don't get that vibe either, and I met Bakula a few times in the early nineties and never did get it with him, either. But these men ARE actors...

and as far as Keanu is concerned, I had friends friends in Chicago around the time he was making that crappy movie with Morgan Freeman who claimed first-hand knowledge that he was at least a switch hitter.

Posted by MLLASH on :

ooooh, Wentworth was a good pick. The TMZ people swear he's a big ol' gay boy.

And Keanu... I can remember years ago seeing pictures of him and David Geffen looking awfully 'chummy' together. And Geffen was apparently treating Keanu to a spending spree.

Anybody remember Steve Antin, the super-hot jerk from early 80s treasure The Last American Virgin? Apparently he's in the family. I was glad, even though I have no idea what he looks like now.

Add to my wish list: Stephen the former "Dell dude"! Dude, you're gettin' a male!

Hmmm... for real, though... looks like I can cross him off the wish list-- wish fulfilled, apparently.

And thanks for the Steve Antin pics. He's a little older but still handsome to me!

good job on researching....now i m more curious about his dad...got a pic of him? [Big Grin]

and also what about the guy Ken Barnett? He's cute too..hmmm

Posted by Rockhopper Lad on :

I'm not 100% sure but I think his dad my be the Reverend James Curtis of Atlanta. None of the articles I've found names him, so that's just a guess, based on a list of Episcopal priests named "Curtis" and the fact that Ben mentions that his dad is an artist and the elder Curtis mentions here that he had been artist-in-residence at the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, which is well-known for being liberal and gay-friendly. Again, that's a guess.

Well according to the IMDB entry for John C. McGinley, he is a good friend of John Cusak. He does have at least 2 children, the latest having been born on February 2, 2008.

And thats cool. I guess it could be a factor of his acting too well in some parts, like Highlander 2. I've just always gotten that vibe off him. Don't really care either way, he's a good actor and scrubs is one of my favorite shows. Like i say, i just get that vibe, like my wife does with Matthew McConaghy.

NY State legislators may have a bill in front of them by tomorrow (Thursday). The Gov is sponsoring it, so no need to override a veto as VT had to.... as long as it gets through at all.

2 years ago, it easily sailed through the Assembly but failed in the state Senate (then under GOP control). This time around, the Dems have a slight majority in the Senate, and the Dem leader says some GOP he's been talking to will support it.

We shall see.

polls show 41% of NYers for it (up from 33% two years ago), and only 20% vs. A lot of neutrality.

NYS already recognizes marriages performed elsewhere.

we shall see...

Then they really need to get over themselves. Who made them the Gay Police? Thats the biggest and worst problem america has as a whole, people that think they have the right to tell other people how to run their lives. Take care of your own glass house first.

Hayes doesn't owe them anything. And they don't owe him anything, or own him either. I went to the link and its pretty obvious that he doesn't care for the way he was treated by either the straight or gay media, and he pretty much feels they can all kiss his ass. Good for him.

Posted by Quislet, Esq. on :

But it isn't just a matter of letting them run their own lives. Without them being honest about who they are there are others who will make them be "heterosexual". On the Hannity boards, I made a post about Raymond Burr being gay (He had a 35 year relationship with another man. They owned a vineyard together and Burr left his estate to him) Another poster ther insisted "Unless he said 'I'm gay', I won't believe it."

And another way to look at it is that there is a major pressure for gay people to be closeted. That pressure is telling gay people how to run their lives too.

Posted by rickshaw1 on :

So, if you are gay, then you have no right to decide how to live your own life. Instead, you must submit your life to the "Gay Committee" or something, who then gets to decide whether you stay in the closet or not?

It should be any individual's decision as to how they live their lives, as long as they are not hurting others. It isn't his job in life to be "openly and admittedly gay" to make anyone else's life easier, or vice versa. It's his life. Same goes for anyone trying to force him into the closet.
As to others that will "Make them be"...ef em. And the major pressure, is only pressure if they let it be. There have been gay people throughout history, and there will be until society (if you can call the carnivorous beast that is the mass of humanity a true "society") comes crashing down.

Hayes has a right to live his life for himself, not for the gay community, not for the straight community, not for the bi community, not for the asexual or omnisexual. It's HIS life. No one else's. And since he felt that the Advocate and other "gay" media basically threw him under the bus to suit their own ends, if he want's to tell them to go take a flying efff, thats his right.

Posted by Set on :

On the one hand, living a lie is destructive, not just to the person living it, but to whomever they use as a beard. (See Holmes, Katie) But there's a difference between living a lie (pretending to be straight or to have been 'cured,' like Anna Heche), and just telling people that it's none of their darned business.

On the other hand, being 'outed' can be career suicide in Hollywood, or, at the minimum, lead to much reduced roles, stereotyping, marginalized popularity or being passed over for 'leading man' roles. Actors like Rock Hudson and Robert Reed (Pa Brady) kept their secrets, for the sake of their careers. Heath Ledger was dropped from everyone's 'leading roles' list because he *pretended* to be a gay man, and there were still freaks boycotting the second Batman movie because he *pretended* to be gay once, for a movie.

The Advocate seems to have a vested interest in outing people, to force celebrities who are gay to get out there and be 'examples,' but I don't think that a gay celebrity should be held to any higher standard than Tiger Woods should have somehow been more faithful to his wife than Bill Clinton or John McCain or Jesse James, just because he's black.

Having a penis trumps skin color and a dog is a dog, no matter it's coat. Setting celebrities up as 'examples' or 'icons' or 'people to look up to' of their race, sex, sexuality, etc. just makes it destructive when they are revealed to have been *human* underneath it all, just as certain news shows were happy to suggest that Tiger was unfaithful *because* he was black (while ignoring the dozens of prominent white cheaters of the last decade, in their rush to sneak in some racism).

If someone wants to 'come out' and be an 'advocate,' then good for them (although it behooves them to keep their house in order, so as not to 'tarnish the brand,' so to speak).

If someone wants to flip the media a finger and say, 'My bedroom, take your cameras and notepads and get the hell out,' then good for them, too.

LW posters, I'm surprised some of you haven't been enjoying Hercules' comics these last few months. There was a GREAT scene recently regarding Hercules and Northstar with some hilarious and fun implications (all naturally fitting with the Hercules myth, of course!).

And Chew from Image had one of the best splash page endings in it's recent #9 that would make some gay/lesbian posters I know well here (I'm looking at you, Lash) laugh your asses off in delight!
