Something I'm curious about (it's not completely random. Just mostly ) - are there any times between the fourth of July and New Year when there's any big firework displays in NYC?

Not really 'Boot, unless there's an odd reason for it. For example (and this actually didn't happen, but I can easily see it happening) when the Giants just won the Superbowl. I'm surprirsed there weren't any fireworks, since there was a parade. But that would fall in early February. So the only other thing is if the Yankees or Mets won the World Series, which would then be around early to mid November.

Chinese New Year just happened, so that's around Feb and I don't think there are any big fireworks for that anymore (it was usually more about firecrackers than fireworks anyway).

Even NYE is mostly the ball-drop; I don't recall fireworks even then (unless it's a recent-years addition, or my memory is worse than I thought). The only time I went to TSq in person, I remember some German girls complaining that the ball-drop wasn't very impressive. they expected fireworks, and didn't get any.

Every year after the Gay Pride parade, there's a huge fireworks display over the Hudson River by the Christopher St piers.
