He was a mainstay on The Drew Carey Show, I dare say the #1 reason for its success. Yet, after its cancellation, Diedrich Bader has languished in unrewarding supporting roles-- indeed, if he worked at all. [No]

Carey, meanwhile, has somehow cobbled together a second career as a "game show host"; Indeed, he has recently landed the plum job of replacing the irreplaceable, the legendary, Bob Barker (!) on The Price is Right! [Elastic Lad]

This is a grave injustice! Anyone with an ounce of knowledge of the comedic genius of Mr. Bader -knows- he carried Carey and "his" sitcom all those years. One look at Drew Carey (and Mimi!) will tell you what a terrible burden it WAS! [Shudder]

So here's a thread to show your support for one of the comedic greats of our times, in HIS time of need! Let us not let Diedrich suffer this ignonimy, I beseech you! :beg:

Oh come on now Pov. Surely you've seen Napoleon Dynamite. Diedrich has had more recognition from that one movie than all of Carey's failed TV attempts since the show went off the air.

Plus, are you forgetting Office Space? I'm not even going to mention all the voice acting he does (Surf's Up ring a bell?)

Carey's name may be more recognizable but Bader has earned a place in Geekdom. Give Carey his due and let him become yet another comedian who has sold his soul to the game show gods.

Yeah. [LOL] I went for a lame spoof of the "Dieters Support thread"... Diedrich was the first name I found after looking for a "Deiter". [Big Grin] [Roll Eyes] Sorry, it was a late night and early morning... [No] [Embarrassed]

He was great as Rex! And I need to catch "Office Space" next time it's on Comedy Central. I didn't realize all the voice acting he does... Kim Possible, The Batman, Buzz Lightyear.

EAT IT, DREW CAREY! [tease]

I knew you were spoofing but had to call you on it. Carey's show was a favorite of mine even though it fell apart at the end.

Shame on you for not owning a copy of Office Space. You may have to turn in your geek badge. [Razz]

He turned up on the most recent ep of Monk on Friday. He played a member of a nudist group.

Now he's going to have another DCU tie (from Comics Continuum:

quote:
DIEDRICH BADER IS BATMAN IN THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD

Diedrich Bader is providing the voice of Batman in Cartoon Network's Batman: The Brave and the Bold animated series, The Continuum has learned.

Cartoon Network has yet to confirm Bader's casting. Recording for the series -- announced last week -- started more than a month ago.

Bader, 41, is probably best known as Oswald from a nine-year run on The Drew Carey Show. He recently starred in the No. 1 film Meet the Spartans.

Bader's many animation credits include Zee in the Batman Beyond spin-off, The Zeta Project, and more recently as Shadow Thief in The Batman.
