I know I'm pretty late, but I just saw one of her videos and thought the music was really good and her voice was great and her look and attitude were AMAZING!!!
Then, I saw them having fun with her on Best Week Ever on VH1 and it was ON!
I'm now YouTubing the heck outta her. Her effed up version of "Beat It" is legendary!

Some wonderful songs Sketchy, but good old Amy Wine Warehouse as she is becoming known over here, is getting a lot of stick for enjoying her drinks a little too much.
She has been on comedy quiz show, never mind the buzzcocks, and got a constant ribbing over drink, and on a Jools Holland show where to be honest she looked like she could hardly stand up. Didn’t stop her singing though, word perfect and spot on the notes and a pleasure to hear.
I hope she don’t self destruct like some.

Such a great voice. She's all over iTunes, which had "I'm No Good" as a free download of the week over the winter. Too bad she's getting a lot more press concerning her boozing than her singing. The production on her stuff is amazing--it sounds like '65 all over again.

Oh, Winehouse and her boozing is no act. It may get a little more hype than it deserves but she's been on a few high profile shows absolutely blotto and if it was acting she desrves an Oscar.
She is rather brilliant in a 'keep her at least a mile away from me just in case' kind of way and her drunken, Jewish drag-queen look is great. Plus even though I probably wouldn't buy one of her albums she does come out with some stonkingly brilliant tunes.

She's one of those people that I really don't want to like but then she comes out with something that makes me think she's brilliant. She's like the evil version of Girls Aloud, only there's only one of her. And Girls Aloud are also evil. But they are brilliant, much as I wish it weren't so.

Oh, and Dean if you like Amy Winehouse you might want to check out The Pipettes as well. They are incredibly 60s but with a modern twist (less R&B than Winehouse but she has that same 60s vibe going on) and just utterly genius in all the right ways. Their website is here http://www.thepipettes.co.uk/ and you can listen to quite a few of their songs there. I luuuurve them.

You gotta check out the 'latest favorite song' thread more closely Sketchy! We name-checked her back in February and she's been buzzing long before that! I hope her record company doesn't think Americans are too prudish for "Rehab" to be a single, it's one of my fav from her second disc. I was supposed to see her in concert later this month but the ticket situation (I almost bought off someone on Craigslist) became too sketchy so I don't know if I can go

Weird, I just got turned on to Amy Winehouse over at a friend's the other day and I discovered the Pipettes on a co-worker's I-tunes last week. Coincidence or subliminal British marketing ploy?
