Okay, i saw the movies when they came out, and they were fun. I didn't go batcrap over them like some folks, but they were fun.

My wife, however, loves them. Especially Yoda. So the last few days our nights have been watching the new dvds of the old movies. And we still have the first two new ones to go.

Since my wife is so cool about letting me see my movies that have no social redeeming values, no very special messages, etc... i watch them with her and enjoy...but oy, enough.

Sorry, just had to get it off my chest. Anyone else trapped in movie heck right now?

Only the fact that I have a stack of DVDs about 2 foot tall that I have yet to have the time to watch. Even when I was way sick I still was unable to watch TV for what I want. I'm seriously thinking of bringing in a bunch of movies to work and just watching them here this weekend.

I watched them last week when I first got them. No movie heck for me right now. My wife, who claims to hate everything sci-fi, sat by me on the couch as I watched them although I'm sure she was looking at her Martha Stewart magazines while the movies were running.

I felt pretty good when she asked me if Han Solo lived after the second movie or not. Seems to me like someone got a little interested in the story. (hey we need a wink smiley)

I just hope I can get her a little more interested in sci fi by the time ep III comes out.

My wife is pretty hip to the Star Wars movies, but what really shocked me is when she got into the Lord Of The Rings movies. She'd never read the books and was not really interested in the movies at first. The Two Towers hooked her, and we wound up seeing The Return Of the King twice in the theaters and buying the DVD to boot, knowing that I'd be getting the Extended Edition for Christmas.

Of course that's offset by the Dawson's Creek bingeing she does whenever a new season hits DVD. I'll watch it with her, but she goes through it so fast I miss every other episode at least.

Right now the main terror at home is not a movie, it's an entire channel: La la la la, PBSKids!

My wife likes Yoda, the ewoks, and Gimli. She thinks they are cuddly.

In other words, she likes the cute, short people (her words, not mine). Kinda funny since i clock in at over 6'4", but, whatcha gonna do?

Since i love her, i guess i can put up with it. After all, she did watch the xmen, spider man, hulk, hellboy, and daredevil movies.

But then again, i watched six seasons of friends, the harry potter movies, the lord of ring movies...eh, shes worth it.

Well, you could always get a copy of Star Wars: Battlefront. Then you could hunt the Ewoks. [Big Grin]

Any game that encourages ewok hunting should move a few units...

I wish I had a game system... Must kill Ewoks.

I thought it was very sporting of Entertainment Weekly to grade the trilogy as a whole. I guess it was like grading on a curve.

I guess i really shouldn't say too much since she reminds me of a kid when watching. She jokes that she used to sit in front of the tv and watch it about three feet away, fascinated. She still looks cute when she does now, and it makes her happy, lol.

But i do luves me old classics.

I had to debate between getting the "Star Wars Trilogy" three-disc set, which I knew was coming ... and for about the same (eBay) price, the "My So-Called Life" five-disc set, which had been out for nearly two years and was no longer in print.

No contest. Angela Chase over Darth Vader.

Besides, the 19 hours of the incomparable acting and writing of "MSCL" are the originals. And, on the other hand, I had the untampered-with "SW" originals on VHS, and that's still good enough. And, on the other other hand, Han shot first.

Good for you Grey, I'd rather have my "Freaks & Geeks" set than even the "Star Wars" one. There something satisfying (in a melancholy way) about having the full run of something like that.

ps: HAN SHOT FIRST. Pass it on.

You made her watch Daredevil? And she's still with you?

It must be love, man.

Yeah, but he watched six seasons of Friends... [Eek!]

*ducks, covers*

Maybe they should do a crossover...

This week on a very special episode of Friends... It's Daredevil.

Well, last night i picked up the seventh season. We started watching it instead of the debate, but i crapped out after the first three shows on disc one.

She, on the other hand, stayed up until one oclock to make my mom's birthday cake. And we had to be up at five forty-five to get her to work.

Now ya see why i love her so much.

Oh, and she suggested the daredevil movie, not me, lol. She was also the one that suggested both spider man and hulk. But she got miffed when there was no legion book to buy this week. [Smile] Gotta luv her.

Two words: Ben Affleck. [Big Grin] [Wink]

Maybe, but i think she goes more for Matt Damon, lol. She liked his little cameo in Eurotrip as the lead singer.

But to me, aflacs best role was as the dumbass bully in dazed and confused, and the crazy/stupid/transvestite ben aflac in the SNL skits from last season. "What happens in Bangkok, stays in bangkok."
