If there really NEEDED to be proof that the honky afro has come into vogue, that proof can be found on the current Real World: Philedelphia season!
Not one but TWO of the whiteys have afros! (M.J. and Landon)
Otherwise, this season is shaping up to be kinda been there, done that.
Next week, everyone gets freaked out when the gay guy (who does NOT have an afro, by the way, and is therefore obviously behind the times) brings home a friend and they have a little nude frolic. Maybe it is 'been there, done that', Lash, but I liked this group of kids much more than the last few (which means the ratings'll probably sink like a stone...)
The guy from Nashville-- M.J., I think? The blond one? He looks *exactly* like a bust of Alexander the Great I've seen. Creepily so.
This cast has two gay guys (so far )-- which is a first, I think.
I passed on the last season, but I think I'll watch this one (though I've already missed an episode, somehow).

M.J. is the blonde beafroed guy. Landon is his partner in comedy and honky-afrodom (and the cuter of the two, to me).
There are TWO gay guys this season? They certainly weren't featured in the 2 eps I saw today. Caught a glimpse and a wee bit of dialogue from one, that's it. Wasn't even aware of a second.

Plus M.J. is all Mr. bristling with Confidence-I-Can-get-Any-Chick guy, which is a turnoff for me, whereas Landon is more of a shyer, sweeter type, which totally turns me on!

They're both cute... but I think Landon's got a little bitchiness beneath all that goofball charm. Maybe I'm wrong... The other guy... M.J. (wonder if he reads Spider-man?) seems direly serious in comparison. Hope he lightens up.
Doesn't matter... I watch REAL WORLD for the important *social* experimentation *snicker*...

In the first episode, Karamo (I think that's his name) slowly revealed to a few cast members at a time that he was gay. I thought it was pretty cool how he really blew MJ's mind, after MJ told his confessional that he figured out the other guy (can't remember his name) was gay and that he had a good eye for it. Two very different gay guys, and a nice contrast for folks watching that might have had their perceptions changed.
I've only caught that one episode so far, so I'm behind right now. I think Shavonda is pretty cute though, and it looks like she'll be hooking up with Landon...

When I saw the two curly blonde dudes I figured MTV must be singled-handedly trying to bring back the famed blonde afro of the 1970s! What was Karamo saying to Willie (William) about like 'William is the worst name ever' or 'I hate that name'. Dude, even if you don't like a name you don't tell someone named William that you hate the name William - its so freakin' rude! Oh, and has anyone seen that short haired blonde girl from Santa Cruz, CA? She's been on screen so far this season for a total of like 2 minutes just to complain about that one girl's boobies and jeans!

I think Landon and Shavonda are my favorite two so far, I hope they hook up!
Willie seems really likeable too, and it seems like he's about to have a boyfriend for the forseeable future. Seeing MJ's reactions to gay culture is pretty amusing too.

I'm catching a marathon of Cracker Afro Real World, so I'm getting ALL caught up.
Very interesting to see the reactions K gets as he comes out to the others.
Also very interesting to note that the 2 gay guys are such polar opposites and there really IS that prejudice in the gay community of butch vs. nelly.
This season may have the hottest set of guys in years.
MJ is KILLING me with this "small town" crap. Nashville is a HUGE city. He sounds just like me, calling myself a country boy. Feh!

Wow what happened on this week's Cracker Afro World? It got all serious and relavent with Karamo getting harassed by cops over a supposed gun threat and Karamo later revealing that he'd been racially profiled/stopped by cops like 20+ times in the past! Where's all the drunken debauchery and ill-advised roommate on roommate action? Free Willy!
