Saw the Ting Tings last night. My wife & daughter are big fans. Left my daughter at home since the concert was at a small bar/club. They were really good.
The opening act Hot Tubs (i think) was interesting. Three slightly chubby half naked girls rapping and thrashing violently. They sounded very good though like early Beastie Boys.

Haven't been to any concerts in a long time. I do see some of the local/regional bands though at various bars and hang-outs I go to. Some of them are pretty well-known in the Northeast.
Last big names I saw were:
(1) Flogging Molly – Irish punk band who is probably my favorite band of my entire 20’s. They rocked like no one’s business. But that was a few years ago.
(2) Method Man & Redman – I saw Meth and Red at a famous bar in New Haven called “Toad’s Place”. Its like 30 years old and the Rolling Stones, U2 and so many other great bands have played there. Its right next to Yale’s campus. Method Man and Redman were simply awesome, and the show was freaking crazy. It’s a big place for a bar but pretty small for a concert, which made it even cooler.
I used to travel all over to go see Metallica concerts in my late teens. They, Led Zeppelin, Green Day, the Clash and now Flogging Molly are my all time favorite bands. But its almost 10 years since I’ve seen them.
Best concert I ever went to was a Foo Fighters / Red Hot Chilli Peppers concert. The crowd (and bands) partied like it was Woodstock. And they just jammed and did whatever songs they felt like playing. They even joined each other on stage. That was probably in 2000 or even 2001.

Let's add U2 to that list. Holy Cow! They played last night to 100,000 people in Moncton (with a population barely larger than that) in the last show of their 2 year 360 tour. Needless to say they blew the roof off (and we were already outdoors).

I stopped paying attention to music when ABBA broke up, so I don't think I have ever been to a concert.

Given my well known love for metal, the beginning of this list may seem strange.... Anyways, all the shows I've been to more or less in order.

Ooh, a fourth concert for my short, short list.
The girls wanted to go to a Breaking Benjamin/Three Days Grace/Flyleaf concert, and couldn't find another adult to go with them, so I volunteered to drive them. It helped that I love Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace.
(A friend at work told me that he had to take his daughter to a Hannah Montana show, so I feel blessed, by comparison!)
Awesome show. TDG even played the song that Adam Gautier did with Apocalyptica.
Last year, they toured with Lacuna Coil, in place of Flyleaf, and I wish we'd seen that one instead, since I like Lacuna Coil a lot better...
