well i'm now 10 episodes into season 6 !!!!
and i'm really enjoying them so far .... the opener was great, loved seeing WILLOW with her amped up powers, and it was interesting to find out BUFFY was in a good place !!! [ i liked that we saw the tower/platform again !!!
the episodes have reminded me a little of season 4 [ where the characters were all a little mixed up as the started at university ] this season they are all ajusting to growing up and becoming different people, XANDER & ANYA becoming engaged, GILES choice to leave BUFFY [ so she'll grow up, do things on her own ] and WILLOW's dependancy on magic, that has caused her to split with TARA !!!
the episode "TABULA RASA" was so funny !!! loved them deciding what their names were, and who the were going out with/related to !!!
the next one "SMASHED" was quite full on for BUFFY !!! but still intersting to see her and SPIKE together, and then "WRECKED" with WILLOW becoming more "addicted" to magic !!!
oh yeah ..... i didn't mention "ONCE MORE WITH FEELING" !!! i already had this on a single DVD special !!! and it's such a great episode, the songs are just amazing !!!
looking forward to upcoming episodes ......
Matthew.

Honestly, I thought season 6 was the weakest one. There were some good episodes, but Dawn went from plot device to simply annoying, Buffy and Spike were just icky, Giles leaves, the "Trio" were weak villains (though funny) and Willow as a "magic addict" was a bit too thinly veiled for me. It was all a downer for most of the season.
The highlight though was definitely the last storyarc -- it almost made up for the rest of the season, it was soooo good!

the finale of season six is awesome. the lines in the last few episodes alone are worth watching it all...

Worst thing they (the creative staff) could have done was to kill off Tara and thus, finally give Willow the gumption and fire she desperately needed - if for the wrong reasons

I actually might put this season second or third on my best season list, behind senior year and maybe junior year. Once with Feeling is one of the best ever episodes...the look on Willow's face when she figures out that they ripped the Buffster out of Heaven!

And of course Giles had the best entrance ever during the season finale! Made for an awesome cliffhanger!

I think the whole Anya Xander break up was handeled really badly and didn't make a great deal of sence and neither character really got back on track for the rest of the season. I think the season 6 highlight for me was seeing Riley back I didnt realise how much the show needed him till he was gone and I wish they had of kept him around instead of Spike retreading old Angel story lines.

I remember when poor Xander had to wear an eyepatch for some episodes - how come?

Enjoy it while you can... Buffy fandom is rapidly going the way of Xena fandom--a single obsessive niche is growing and taking over. Soon, the only thing you'll be allowed to discuss is how awesome and studly Spike was.

I downloaded the ONCE MORE WITH FEELING soundtrack. Can't get over Tara's incredible singing voice. She should be on Broadway, at the very least.
I finished Season 6 last weekend; lotsa fun, though I dislike the implication that the entire Buffy-verse is the delusional hallucinations of a madwoman. They even took pains to revisit her in the asylum, AFTER she had said "goodbye" to the 'real world'. If they hadn't done that, I could have shrugged the whole theory off as demon-drugging. As it stands, I can't do that.

but it made it on par of those crative writing exercies you did at school and when you couldn't be arsed working out the details you just went with "Suddenly she woke up and it had all been a dream"
