It kind of makes you wonder if anyone at Disney has read a Marvel comic in the last 10 years. Last time I checked, Peg Leg Pete never actually killed Minnie and ate her. I'm guessing Scrooge McDuck will now be revealed to be a part of a shadowy cabal secretly manipulating events in Duckburg and so on.

This is probably good news in that low selling comics may have a better chance of a longer shelf-life with so little impact to the bottom line. And the marketing push will be tremendous, which ultimately could be good for comic book sales.
From a corporate standpoint this is real business as usual, Marvel has been "big business" for decades, just like DC. The Marvel shareholders made a killing and I wish I owned Marvel stock.
Content wise I suspect there will be little impact. Disney isn't about Hannah Montana, they're about making money. Probably the deal was made with Joe Q's job security as part of it though he'll be under the usual pressure to perform. Except now he'll direct his attention more towards his new bosses and less towards the posters at newsarama.
Plus we have loads of material for jokes and puns now that's begging to be used.

Generally, I don't think of media consolidation as being a good thing.
Looking forward to the Disney Divas comic, though. Maybe they can have a poll to determine which character ends up with cancer. My money's on Cinderella.

I don't think it's a bad idea, although I don't know much about the deal. Disney ultimately owns Lost, and I don't remember anything about them interfering with the storyline. They could be great for getting kids to notice comics again, too.
