I guess this completes the "characters out of their normal time and place" trifecta they started with Captain Marvel and The 12.

Eh.
This just doesn't feel right to me. I'm loving what Bru's doing with "CA without a Cap", and this forced interjection of a younger "Cap out of time"... it's too soon, at any rate.
I'll pass... if I hear good things, there's always the eventual Premier HC edition...

I'm probably not going to pick this up. Though I love his art, Alex Ross just doesn't wow me anymore.
And like Miner points out, the Marvel characters out of time bit is getting a little old.

I don't care for time travel stories much. I do like that Ross said Engleheart should've never had made the Vision the original human torch. Why didn't they just use the original Vision? Why combine the two?
Anyways, I'm not excited about it. Rather have him do a Invaders story during WWII.

Instead of wasting money of Avengers/Invaders, I recommend searching for back issues of Marvel Universe # 1-3 (the short-lived 1998 anthology series, not the Official Handbook); they feature an Invaders storyarc by the made-in-heaven creative team of Roger Stern and Steve Epting.

Hey! Where's Miss America and Whizzer???!!!
Silly Marvel-- first they left Valkyrie and Nighthawk out of the most recent DEFENDERS series and now this...
Ross's comments about the original Vision make me want to see that character updated and appearing in one of the GA revivalist titles. And Sun Girl-- I've never read a comic book page with her on it, but the bits and pieces I've seen here and there tantalize me. Maaaybe Red Raven, too.
Though the... odd assortment of characters in that THE TWELVE title *are* intriguing.
