I saw mention of this in one of the upcoming solicits (don't remember which title.) Has it occured to anyone else that this is a perfect description of Shikari?

good theory !!

but i wonder if SHIKARI would be too much of an unknown character to the general DC UNIVERSE reader !!?? and to appear as a 'major' character in a massive storyline like this ??

Matthew.

It has to be someone who's known throughout the DCU amongst both the characters and the readers. I'd guess it'd make sense if it were Barry Allen or either the silver or golden age Superman.

With the cover on that solicit it's probably the E-2 fellow, come to talk to his cousin.

the heroic Chronos or Magdalene & the Swordsman (ooops, wrong company) or Captain Atom or Hourman would all apply, no?

Posted by Tamper Lad on :

Sure but Cap'n A is gonna to be in the Wildstorm universe this fall.

Hourman maybe. I think Hourman will show up after the one year gap. Per Degaton said during JSA/JSA that the android would be out of commission "one relative year" whatever that means. If that meant one publishing year it could be him.

OR I guess they could simply be refering to the immenent return of Donna Troy. She diffinitely fits your criteria regarding known to everyone in the DCU. Not sure that I would define her as time lost/tossed so much as dead though [Big Grin]

What about silver age Superboy, or Mon-el. They both fit the description as well. Clever Vee for catching this and getting us thinking.

Kamandi, Last Boy on Earth!

Or else Tommy Tomorrow...

Whoa! I just came here to post the possibility that it might actually be Mon-El! and I see that Semi had the same thought.

Maybe this explains why Waid and Kitson have said that Mon would not appear in LSH for the first year "because of Infinite Crisis"

[Bouncing Boy] Maybe Mon is almost back! [Bouncing Boy]

Except that Mon is not time lost or tossed is he? That is he is not travelling through time.

I thought that the story when Kon El puts him in the stasis zone (or what ever)was still in continuity? So that he is still living inside time as we are just in the phantom zone?

Oh my head hurts trying to explain time travel logically [Confused]

And to be honest, no matter what the legion thinks, is mon el well known enough to justify this sort of treatment?

Posted by Cobalt Kid on :

I think it will be Superman of Earth-2 (aka the 'original Superman').

And in other news, Marvel has just announced plans for Ultimate Intimate Crisis, in which "a salad-tossed hero returns from a year in The Vault for jaywalking on his way to scoring crack... [Razz] [Big Grin]

You laugh, but I wouldn't put it past Millar...

I just hope it isn't Barry Allen.

There are many cool things they can do here. Lets hope they do.

You're confusing M'Onel (seeder of worlds, etc.) with Mon-El ("brother" of Superboy and accidentally lead poisoned by him).

there was a rumor on Lying In The Gutters column about this ... i mean, it was just a flash in it -- totally unsure if any of it was true (but it might explain David Goyer's choice of characters for his next super hero film...)

I think if anyone can iron out all continuitys into one-solid timeline, it'll be Geoff Johns. So I wouldn't be surprised if all the Mon-El histories converge on one particulur new one.

So what is it called in the current Legion history, Des? The Phantom Zone, The Buffer Zone or the Stasis Zone?

Posted by Cobalt Kid on :

To be honest Bri, I don't think I even know anymore. Wow...that's how bad its become...

The Auto Zone.

I saw a commercial for it last night.

(But why was it full of car parts??? [Confused] )

Posted by Vee on :

Because it's where the car part you are always looking for but no one ever has it in stock, is warehoused. [Big Grin]

Could you expound on this a little. You lost me there. Who is Goyer doing a film of? Mon? or someone else? [Confused]

Posted by Lightning Lad on :

Goyer is supposed to be working on a film version of the Flash. But I'm not sure what Andy is referring to since the last article I saw, Flash was supposed to be Wally. And the LitG column kinda of conflicts with that.

Posted by legionadventureman on :

Would they hire John Wesley Shipp (the TV Flash) in the starring role? That dude was a good-looker, all right...

Posted by Stratum on :

I seriously doubt that they'll do anything to horribly to Wally. That rumour just has a ring of untruth/misdirection to it.

Besides, they've already brought Barry back for Rogue's War, so that'd be way too derivitive.

Don't worry so much, Cal. [Wink]

Posted by Lightning Lad on :

Actually the one actor who keeps coming up is the one really fighting for the role, Ryan Reynolds. He was in Blade: Trinity, the Amityville Horror remake, Van Wilder and got his start on 2 Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place.

I'm totally with Stratum here. I think Wally is safe.

(And as one of my faves, that pleases me [Big Grin] )

I thought you pleased yourself... [Razz] [Wink]

[Hug] boys!!

Thanks for the comfort... *sniff* I just love Wally so much... He's been my favorite since I was a tiny tot. I'm not sure what I would do if...

...can't even say it. >< Just... yah.

k, now I know who you mean. And I agree, he would fit the role perfectly.

Posted by Cobalt Kid on :

So do I. His recent stint in 'Amityville Horror' showed off that the boy can most definately act. And his other works prove he's one of the funniest and charismatic young actors around these days.

Posted by legionadventureman on :

He is certainly hottie-material - whether he wears face-fuzz or not...

All this is from living in LA as a film student:

Flash is Jay Garrick in the draft script.

Goyer has already cast Ryan Reynolds and they are in pre-production (very early) - still trying out special effects for speed, etc. Reynolds is already back in training (a la Blade Trinity) for his costume (which is apparently going to use HIS body rather than sculpting one for him - MMMMMM).

(and yes, i admit -- even though it flies against all my usual suspects of desire -- i find both David Goyer and Ryan Reynolds phenomenally sexy -- [Love] )

Goyer made it clear that Wally was not going to be his Flash because of ongoing continuity at DC (where he didn't want to step on toes, etc - geoff johns and goyer are pretty good buddies) ... jay garrick, in the script, is a police scientist, etc (pretty much Barry Allen's origin with a different name)

and you know, names are SO hard to change while shooting (mind the sarcasm dripping off that)

Posted by legionadventureman on :

Jay Garrick is an old dude!!! Better cast him as a police commissioner than to call him the Flash. That will always be Barry Allen, IMHO...

Posted by 235 - Andy S on :

well, my point is that IF all the sets are police station, and the set-up is all CSI: Central City for the Flash's alter ego, then it's real easy to change "Jay Garrick" to "Barry Allen" in a script ...

it would mean the "Jay Garrick" in the script is a way of avoiding spoilers in the Flash's regular series (or unpleasant questions in convention season)

Time traveling hero?

Danny Blaine?
hmmmmmm

Posted by ferroboy on :

Wasn't Danny Blaine retconned out in the Crisis in the Legion's latest lettercol? [Smile]

Posted by legionadventureman on :

Forgive me for my dense-ness but who is Danny Blaine? There was a Danny Chase who was a supporting cast character in The New Teen Titans, and even a Danny Dark who had voiced Superman in the Super Friends TV show...

But Danny Blaine? Never heard of the dude...Altho David Blaine is someone not so easily forgotten...
