I don't know if I'm aboard for the whole trip yet... a series of minis with bookends totalling over 30+ issues seems pretty grandiose, and I felt a lllllittle burned when I finished up Earth/Universe/Paradise X and the multitude of one-shots there.
But I'm on-board for anything with art by JH Williams III-- even if Morrison wants to expound on his bellybutton.

yeh, wow. this rocked. When Morrison get's it right it's awesome. I loved these characters. Until i read the book i thought they were going to be the focus and i was prepared to shell out all dosh right there.
Then i got to the end. awgh. goddam.
the cast of the rest of the series interests me (Klarion, not being written by Byrne? SO there.) but
Awgh. just awgh. Gimmix, the Whip, Dynomyter (sic), the Vigilante. AWGH. Even Boy Blue & I, Spyder.
But ESPECIALLY Gimmix. arrrrghrlgh.

Even Morrisons throw away ideas like Gimmix - would love to see more of here - and Blue Boy would be fun to learn more about.

The story seemed even better when I read it a second time.
All the mini-series does make it seem like a major undertaking and investment.
Hopefully the mini-series will be as good.

I can't stress how much I am looking forward to this. Klarion the Witchy-Boy? Rock on, DC! From all your comments, it seems that it's just bursting with ideas so far, and I'd expect nothing less.
I also cannot wait for Morrison's Superman, but that's neither here nor there...

All*Star Superman, right? You could always start a topic about it here in GYM'LL.
The more, the merrier, and we can never discuss too many comics! Except DOOM PATROL or anything by Rob Liefeld. But even THEY seem to end up getting topics around here...

heh, generally as DP has become an object of lewd ridicule, i've noticed.
but, back to topic, was asked by a friend if Gimmix is meant to be Merry, Girl of a Thousand Gimmics.
At first i thought that Jaqueline Pemberton must have been another member of that ill-starred family owing to Merry's obvious age in Old Justice. Now i think back, is this correct?
And a Gimmix: Year One: Starting The Convention Circuit mini-series already has one loyal follower, hear that Morrison?

I figured Gimmix had to be related for the same reasons: Pemberton name, red hair, and the gimmicks. I would have liked to see more about her. Hmm...maybe Mrs. King was dead and Jacqueline was pretendint to be her?
I, Spyder...too bad about him, but what did he have to live for once Jack Knight retired?
I'm most sorry about Greg Saunders (or Sanders, as it's written in this book).
But, yeah, like was said, even Morrison's throwaway ideas are more interesting than those of the main ideas of many other writers.

Anyway, got it, read it, liked it. But several of the mini's don't interest me. I will most definately be there for the Zatanna one, thought the cover art doesn't appeal to me. Anything that draws her back into DC proper.

I really liked this issue as well. When I was reading the release dates of the mini series it seems like so long...I thought they were all gonna be released together. Of course thats what i get for thinking. ( I know someone was thinking that)
I really enjoyed the issue and read it a few times. Its a keeper.
If you look at the publishing list, there are only two months where there are three titles coming out. All the other months are two titles a piece. All the minis seem to have a skip month in publishing.
Good enough for me to get all the minis.

--based on those solicits, the only mini I'm not interested in character- or artwise is Manhattan Guardian. Shining Knight, Zatanna, Bulleteer and Mr. Miracle are definitely going on my orders. If I get the chance and Gary can host some images for me, I'll post pics from the 7 Soldiers DC Horizon instore promo. Awesome-looking stuff.
