Kate, who created Omaha with illustrator Reed Waller, passed away after a long bout with cancer this weekend. Both The Pulse and Newsarama have short articles on her and her ground breaking work.

Omaha the Cat Dancer was one of the first adult type comics that I ever bought. If I remember correctly, it was one of the first titles that gave me an exposure to the adult side of the comics industry.

I wish I knew where mine were. Caroline would probably get a kick out of them too. Those and the old Cherry comics. I think it was just called Cherry. Those were my first foray into the adult side of comics.

Of course, here in Utah, I have no way of finding back issues of either. I'd have to resort to mail order and hope they wouldn't mark them as adult or I couldn't have them delivered here. What a lovely place I live in.

Very sorry to hear this; I was a fan of Omaha. I just recently discovered the Yahoo groups devoted to the series, and learned that Waller and Worley were both interested in continuing it (at least to the extent of wrapping up the major dangling plotlines, and possibly more). Alas, for what might have been ...
