Are these Durlans all scarlet cloaked (like in the Durlan/Phase switch several years ago) or are their true forms something entirely different in the post-Zero Hour scheme of things?

hmmm, here is the information extracted from Newsarama source:
*snip* Page 5.
Q: Is Mister Atom dead?
A: Oh sure – as dead as any robotic life form made out of metal when they’re disassembled can be. We’d love to see the ambulance pull up with only a wrench inside…
*snip* Page 7.
Q: Charred remains of Dr. Polaris?
A: Last issue – big fight. Human Bomb getting naked. We made some tasteless jokes. It was a good time.
Q: So – Black Condor, Phantom Lady and Human Bomb are dead?
A: And strung up on the Washington Monument, so probably.
Q: Ray and Uncle Sam?
A: Missing. We saw that Ray was taken by the Society in issue #1, right after the battle, but Sam was left for dead. Hmmm…Uncle Sam might not have been killed by a Pagan and an alien? Goodbye, Fox News coverage.

Page 19.
Q: Who’s fighting the OMACs in the middle panel?
A: The Metal Men – though Gold is/had been/was maybe dead last time they were seen…
*snip* Page 20.
Q: Wait – who?
A: Booster Gold, hero from the future. 25th century, actually. Yes, he came back years earlier – in our 1986, but God only knows when in the DCU time. In the DCU timeline, Booster’s was pretty despondent, since his best buddy, Blue Beetle was killed in Countdown, and his robot buddy, Skeets was long gone. Last we saw him was in The OMAC Project #6, where he told Fire that he had to “go home.”
Interesting ideA: he jumped forward to the 25th century, got a new suit and loaded up, and then headed back to stop things…
Interesting or sad sidenote: Wilkepedia has a pretty substantial entry on Booster Gold, written by someone who will most likely send hate mail to Dan DiDio and Geoff Johns if Booster dies.
Q: Blue Beetle’s scarab?
A: It’s in El Paso, Texas, as shown at the end of Day of Vengeance. No jokes about a the reception a man wearing a skin tight bodysuit who calls himself “Booster” anything might get when he lands in Texas, please.
Page 21.
Q: Who’s dying now?
A: King from the Royal Flush Gang. But first…
Q: Kite Man?
A: Chalk up another villain who will be missed by seven people. Likewise, if you’re keeping track, cross out Fisherman (an old Aquaman villain) too – he took four in the back in Gotham Central #37 courtesy of Detectives Josie MacDonald and Marcus Driver.
Q: Back to the Joker…
A: Yeah, one of the last times we saw him too, he was getting the absolute be-jeezus beaten out of him by a very pissed off Jason Todd back in Batman #638 (which was just after he’d had the be-jeezus beaten out of him by Hush in Gotham Knights). Yeah, he was back in Detective Comics #809, but you know…there are times when we can’t get over a cold for a month…

Who's the answerer? They're pretty smug about killing charaters that had potential and didn't deserve to be killed for shock value in yet another company-wide crossover that will redefine the previous company-wide crossover.
Maybe the charaters that he/she works hard to create and establish in the interim will become cannon-fodder for Crisis III?

Where did you get the answerer was DiDio? The article, second in a series, is written by Matt Brady of Newsarama. He gives a page by page breakdown, assuming the questions from each page then giving his smart answers.

Thanks because I'd be interested to see that these are really DiDio's answers since Matt presents them as his. Or at least has for the first two articles.

The Crisis Counseling session with DiDio I read didn't have page-by-page breakdowns, but general questions from fans.
In supes' defense, some of these answers do sound like DiDio, though stuff like "Chalk up another villain who will be missed by seven people" is a bit hardcore for him.* Though it does sound like Bob Wayne. Still, this bit...
"Interesting or sad sidenote: Wilkepedia has a pretty substantial entry on Booster Gold, written by someone who will most likely send hate mail to Dan DiDio and Geoff Johns if Booster dies."
....implies this isn't DiDio.
* - I know a reader who will miss Kite-Man. A lot. He's a nice guy, too. The reader, not Kite-Man.
