It looks like something an artist made up, but no.
See Ginger Rogers as the title character of Kitty Foyle. She had to wear a lot of dubious hairdos for the role but she won the Academy Award for it anyway.

Hmm.
Of course, Ginger is best known for her movies with Fred Astaire, and I think there's a great potential there for a serial of some sort: professional dance partners who, in their travels, are secretly spies or superheroes or something. You know, like Wanda & Vihz's neighbors up in Leonia (although NOT jewel thieves, please). Or Alice Marble, the tennis player/espionage agent...
