The one on the left with the owl! The owl is what caught me eye (then I remembered your reccomendation).
Is that the first printing. Obviously I could find that out online, probably in this very thread of which there are less than 20 posts, but we all know about my chronic laziness...

Yeah, it's the first printing... I even reposted the covers from earlier in the thread, in order of printing... all I had left to do was actually -label- them...
I'm tempted to get a second printing just for the cover. I like the monochromatic coloring and the larger logo...

Ooops, my bad-- I just double-checked, and the second printing doesn't hit shelves until October 3rd...

I, noticed this book a few weeks ago and told my local comic book store guy about it. He ordered the 2nd printing for me, and it finally got here today. I read it and was very pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed it, more so that I would have expected. Certainly a good addition to my pull list. If this shapes up to be the fantasy story it promises, I will be quite happy.

I really like this series... I was worried initially that it would get lost beneath my MOUSE GUARD love, but this has proven to stand on its own merits after two issues. It's completely different from MG in both tone and storyline. TEMPLAR seems more of a "Star Wars Luke-comes-of-age" type; it's too early yet, but that's been my first (favorable!) imression of Kaaric's story. This is more episodic, meant for a monthly series. MG seems... simpler by comparison, I guess, and works better collected as a young readers' book; even Petersen's choice of font over hand lettering there enforces the perception.
I love 'em both, but MICE TEMPLAR is the better comic.

#2 had all sorts of funky cool shit in it that was just awesome. The whole mythology to it, the feeling of mistrust towards the old 'Templar' that the readers are given, and the real sense of danger is just too good to resist.

It came out, and I read it rather quickly. It's an engaging story, trying to give savvy readers something new. There are two characters I'm intrigued about, and neither is Karic.
The art if good, but as someone mentioned earlier, it's a little tough telling the different mice apart. But still pretty to look at.
