Legion legend Giffen is writing this and it rocks!

I forgot what happened in issue #1 but #2 focused on my favorite herald Firelord! And he kicked tail! Firelord at his best! Giffen gets Firelord. He's my fave cause of his bravado in the old Thor and Avengers comics.

1 (Terrax/Stardust) was okay. Terrax story was a bit slight, maybe, but it had a point, it went somewhere, and things were different at the end than the start for the leads. Stardust was better, setting up future stories and giving a solid basis to the character if he/she/it is to stick around long-term.

2... 2... 2... was the worst issue in the whole of Annihilation, sending the whole thing off on a sour note. Where was the %^*(ing story?!

The first story, with Firelord, was borderline-alright, but it suffered from the problems of the second story (albeit to a somewhat lesser extent) since there's never any doubt Firelord will win, and the Centurions start and end as cyphers. His thoughts about war are the only point of actual interest in the whole book.

The second story though... wasn't a story. Some pretty pictures, but there WAS NO STORY. A history clip, some thoughts of the all-new-all-boring Silver Robot, the just-introduced things are killed off, Silver Robot's fixed, the end. Really, what of interest is there meant to be here? That's not a story, it's the vaguest shadow of a story - there's never any doubt Silver Robot will live, and the backstory's completely moot by the end. Some pretty pictures as I say, but nothing interesting whatsoever.

My views are my own and do not reflect those of everyone else... and I wouldn't have it any other way.
