Hint: Roger Daltrey and Randy Bachman each did an imitation of the link in song.

Nope. George VI was never a regent, and the term does not apply to Carroll or Jones.
Hint #2: The link has to do with a personal "defect" that all shared.

As to my first clue, Roger Daltrey stuttered in The Who's "My Generation," and Randy Bachman stuttered in Bachman-Turner Overdrive's "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet."

What... you want more? OK, fine: a great many other people have just as valid (and, in some cases, a more valid) claim to this media-ascribed commonality.

Which, of course, according to Apu, rhymes with "Seattle."
You got it, HWW.

Hint: This link, like my last one, has to do with a "defect" that the general public was not aware of.

They all had "malformed" hands. Jerry Garcia and James Doohan were missing a finger and Gary Burghoff had a withered hand.

That's it, Exnihil. Doohan and Burghoff were careful not to let their "malformed" hands appear on camera (though there are reportedly some scenes on M*A*S*H where Burghoff's deformed hand is evident). Garcia went the other route by showing his four-fingered hand on the cover of his solo album.
