Is this one of the incarnations of Blackadder?

Okay, this will be a hard one, partly because the opening was always instrumental and the sung version was only used occasionally over the closing credits for part of the show's run--and it's a fairly obscure show, but where the title fits in should help:
Seems as though a harmony is hard to find, Always on my mind And frustrated days pass without sight: (Show Title), Half dark, half light

I think this one will need a few clues. First, here is the entire song:
Seem as though a harmony Is hard to find Always on my mind. And frustrated days Pass without sight. (Show Title), Half dark, half light. As we watch our hearts Trying to hold a tenderness That we once had Halfway glad, and halfway sad. (Show Title), Half dark, half light. And do you think we might wake up some day? And be aware of all the games people play. Living circles of unending strife, As we look for life. And nothing's wrong, and nothing's right. (Show Title), Half dark, half light. Watching all the lonely hearts Passing out of sight. (Show Title).

This was a very long-running program. It went off the air in 1984.

This clip shows a remix of the theme used with closing credits. The preceding scene also shows Lori Loughlin's first appearance on the show, which was her first major role.
And here is a montage of the various opening themes, none of which used the lyrics. The last several versions are instrumental versions of the same piece, though the original theme, used in the first two clips, is probably better remembered.

There's a time for love And a time for livin' So take a chance and face the wind. An open road And a road that's hidden. A brand new life around the bend.

That makes so much more sense.
I always thought it was "an open road and a road that's hip", like - you could do the easy, expected thing... or do something cool.
