The actor that plays Gandalf the Grey in Return of the King
The actor that plays Magneto in X-Men movies

Heh. Or not.

I have no idea how "historical" or how accurate you want or if lesbians are to be considered but I've limited it to gay guys:

King Henry III of France
Oscar Wilde

Actually, "yeoman" is not an officer rank. It's an enlisted specialty, which is used by the USN, I believe.

Commodore is correct.

Clues for the others: Think "The Menagerie" and Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.

Actually, it's colonel, not brigadier, but close enough. (Col. West was the Starfleet officer who participated in the Khitomer Massacre.)
