Karen Berger was already guessed, deddy, but no, the Vertiginous one never called me.
And Mark Waid? He said he tried to call, but the phone system kept rebooting.
To recap: In my single contribution to DC Comics (other than my hard-earned cash), I was once telephoned by an editor to ask for my assistance with a comic. Who was the editor?
A. Andy Helfer B. Bob Greenberger C. Brian Augustyn D. Dan DiDio E. Denny O'Neil F. Dick Giordano G. Jenette Kahn H. Julius Schwartz I. Karen Berger J. Mark Waid K. Michael Eury L. Mike Carlln M. Roy Thomas

"Five Years Later" I had some good ideas for the Legion... twenty years later I'm still waiting for Michael Eury to call me to find out what they are.
Brian Augustyn. I... uh... have to confess I have no idea who Brian Augustyn is. It is fun to say, though. "Augustyn." It sounds so... regal. "Augustyn." Needless to say, it wasn't he who called.
But one of the remaining three did:

Not Roy Thomas... could you imagine the phone charges for a call from Earth 2?
Not "Dandy" Dan DiDio... and it absolutely warms the cockles of my heart to know that he's the last person people would suspect of asking for help.
It was, in fact, Ms. Jenette Kahn. The story:
Back in 1996, during my army days, I was part of the initial military force to enter Bosnia and Herzegovina after the signing of the Dayton Peace accord. Part of the responsibility of my team was ensuring that the local populace was informed of the location of, and danger from, the large amount of landmines remaining from their war.
As she was fond of talking about during her recent presidential campaign, one of the visitors to that country during that period was Hillary Clinton. She was very affected by the mine awareness campaign and wanted to see the campaign specifically extended to young children.
Fast forward six months. I had returned stateside and been reassigned to a strategic battalion, and was given an odd task. Apparently, in the interim, Mrs. Clinton's request had spurred a joint project between the army, UNICEF, and DC Comics. They were going to produce a comic starring Superman to be mass distributed in schools throughout Bosnia aimed at increasing mine awareness among children.
The specific request that had come to my team was to provide photo references for cultural accuracy in the art - the countryside, buildings, local style of dress, etc. It was a pretty cool task and one that required, on one occasion, my having a direct phone conversation with none other than the then editor-in-chief, and president, of DC... Jenette Kahn.
It got Ms. Kahn a trip to the White House, and it got me a cool story to tell on LW.
Good job, Stealth. Next question is yours.

Lilith had a substantial role in one of my favorite arcs, the epic battle against Trigon that inaugurated the Baxter Titans. I like her, but she's not quite my third favorite.
1. Koriand'r 2. Gar 3. Victor 4. Kole 5. Lilith 6. Garth 7. Dick 8. Roy 9. Karen 10. Mal
