No, so how about another hint then. This sitcom frequently featured several cameo guest appearances including Jennifer Saunders and Dawn French.

No and no. Perhaps this show was a little more obscure than I thought. Here in the states the show ran on MTV in the mid 80's for about 2 years even though there were only 12 episodes. It was the story of four college students living together. More hints?

Nope. The tv theme song was originally performed by Cliff Richard, and one of the room mates on the show idolized Cliff Richard.
