Did this character make his first appearance prior to the DNA run (Legion of the Damned)?

I'm thinking of a Legion character that -

Is not female.
Has never sought or obtained Legion membership.
Has armpits.
Does appear Postboot.
Technically, also appears Preboot.
Could pass as a human being in the present day.
Does not have a mystical origin / powers.
Is not related to a Legionnaire.
Could be considered a villain.
Does not have the power to alter / obscure their appearance.
Does not have super powers.
Has not held high ranking political power.
Has not been impersonated by someone holding high ranking political power.
Is not Alex Cuspin.
Has been in a fight on-panel.
Has hair.
Has blonde hair.
Is not Roderick Doyle.
Is not Leland Macauley.
Is not Repulse.
First appeared prior to the DnA run.

Have they appeared in comics set in the 20th/21st century?

Did this character first appear after Zero Hour, but before the Team 20 split?

* IB - I assume you meant their "first (Reboot) appearance" since it's already been established that technically, they first appeared Preboot.

Is he more often associated with characters/series set in the 20th/21st century than with Legion?

That's right, Blacula. Thanks!

Is it Lori Morning's father?

IT IS the infamous Ronald Morning! He who beget the brat that ruined the Legion-verse for some time!

Now during my background check for this character I came across some info that floored me -

I've always assumed he first appeared in the issue he died in, but according to Wikipedia he actually first appeared in a 1989 issue of The Atom (I assume it must mean Power of the Atom since that was the only Atom series published in 1989), which makes sense when you realise that that series was also written by Tom Peyer!

Since that series was pre-Zero Hour, that means Lori's Dad was technically a Preboot character - making him one of the few Legion characters that existed unchanged in both 'boots!

Interesting bit of trivia, huh?!

I actually have that Power of the Atom series waiting to be re-read so when I do I will keep my eyes peeled for the man whose daughter made me drop my favourite book for a while!

And who would have thought he'd have appeared again AND ruined the Legion so? He really is a great villain [Wink]

Sigh, Lori took so much scree time away from some of the Legionnaires...

Okay, I'm thinking of a Legion character...
