While that is true, that's not it. There is something that these countries don't have that would be true of most other countries that were part of the old British Empire.

And another hint: you might think the U.S. States of Kentucky, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Virginia might have to do with what these countries don't have in common, but, they really don't.

Close enough. More accurately, they are all countries that were formerly full members of the Commonwealth of Nations, though in Fiji's case, it's a suspension. Ireland and Zimbabwe have both officially resigned from the Commonwealth.
