I was wondering, sometimes when you forget to check off the EMail notification box you have to reply to yourself to get the notification turned on.
Would I be out of line to request that the Web Master add a button for this either at the top or bottom of the main thread page?? That way it's easier for those of us numb skulls that forget??
If there is another way, please edjumacate me!

Does the "UBBFriend: Email this page to someone!" link above the first post count? Or are you looking for something like this?

Added "Subscribe To Topic" next to "Printer-friendly view of this topic" near the bottom of the pages.

Help! I just spent some time clicking Subscribe to Topic on several threads, but when I go to my profile and click Edit Topic Notifications it tells me I don’t have any topic subscriptions. I refreshed the screen, even closed that tab and opened a new one and checked my profile again. Then tried logging out of LW and back in and still no subscriptions.
Is there some step in the process other than clicking Subscribe to Topic that I’m missing?

Hmm, clicking "Subscribe to Topic" should be sufficient, but I seem to be having the same problem.

Sorry..this feature was turned off due to too many people subscribing to topics with outdated email accounts. Our email account which sends the board email was overrun with Cannot Send Email autoresponses.
We may bring it back when we eventually upgrade the software, but for now it's more trouble than its worth.

Strangely, I DID get notifications of these last two posts. And now that I check the Edit Topic Notifications page again, this topic is listed, though only this one.
Well if the option is turned off, then I guess there's nothing going wrong for me, which is all I need to know.
(Although I am curious why it's working for this one thread. )

I can see how it might be turned on or off only in one forum, but this one didn't turn up in my list till the day after I subscribed, despite all my attempts at refreshing the list, so my guess is that points to something freakier.

Maybe it doesn't show up until you actually have a notification?

I thought of that but it doesn't quite make sense, why shouldn't you be able to edit it until you have a notification?
Not that making sense is a prerequisite for how software works...
But if notifications for any other topic I subscribed to come in, and the topic then pops up on the Edit list right afterward, we'll know that's indeed the case. I'll let you know.

Update: I just subscribed to and started getting notifications for Legion Trivia 4, and now it shows up in the Edit Notifications page too.
I tried resubscribing to one I had already done but hadn't shown up in the list, and a note popped up that I was already subscribed, do I want to unsub?
So it does indeed look possible (if still not exactly sensible) that you can't manage notifications via the list until a topic sends you its first email, because that's what it take to get it on the list.
So, if that's consistent, I'd call it a bug, but not an actual problem.

Okay, it's consistent, just got a notification on yet another Spaceopoly topic and it also now shows in the edit list, and now I think I know why. It won't show up in the Edit your notifications list until the entry has something to put in the "last post" column. And by last post they mean "since you subscribed".
I'll shut up about this now.
