I stopped reading “Legion of Superheroes” for a few months, not because I didn’t like it, but I felt it would probably feel better if I read it in chunks of 10 issues. To little happened in each issue IMHO and I felt that for the story to shine I would simply have to wait so I would get the overall story after having read them. I have bought every issue so I am still supporting it, I just haven’t really followed it since issue 19.

I decided to return to the legion last week, to say hi and have a good time with my two best buddies from childhood “Lightning Lad” and “Cosmic Boy.” To my big surprise both Mark Waid and Kitson have left.

What?? They left?? Didn’t these two guys have this big plan for the legion ( 50+ issues)?? I always thought it was great that Kitson talked to and interacted with us on this board, it really made it feel like he was committed to making this a great comic and Mark Waid always seemed enthusiastic also.

So what happened? Why did they leave? Was it creative differences? Where they fed up with it? Does anyone out there know?

By the way, hearing Jim Shooter will return to writing Legion makes me dance the happy dance.

Barry Kitson left DC for Marvel to work on a new book, The Order (discussion here) and Mark Waid decided he didn't wish to continue on SLSH without Kitson. They ended with #30.

Whatever "big plan" they had for the Legion, I'm just glad we'll never see it coming to fruition... as far as I am concerned, the stories do neither shine when being read over months, nor when being read all at once. I tried both.
