I cant see this on any other topic so I thought I would stick it up here to see if anyone else has heard this? apologies if this has been done to death but sometimes I cant get here for days and miss things.
Anyway, according to Comics International, The artists on Gails story will be Dan Jurgens and Andy Smith.
I know Dans work but whats Andy done?
Simone and Jurgens on the Legion .

Andy's just coming off penciling THE FIRST for CrossGen... his style's very remeniscent of Bart Sears'. He started as an inker, I believe, and I remember liking his inks. Which is a good thing if Jurgens and Smith are Gail's art team, because I have problems with Dan's work when he inks himself or is paired with a Rubenstein-type finisher.
I can't say this is the first team I'd want on LEGION, especially in light of losing Chris and Chip, but I'm willing to give the finished product a chance.

Jurgens' art I remember most from his Spidey clone saga days. Where, while generally strong (he did a great Spidey in-costume), he had the tendancy to give every male the exact same face and every female the exact same face.
And, of note, this is what he said when asked in a recent interview about "what did the future hold":
quote:http://www.comicboards.com/superman/moderator/jurgens6.htm In the immediate sense, Thor, a JLA project, something more at DC and something at Top Cow.
The (non-JLA) DC "something more" could easily be a Legion pencilling stint I suppose.
The only comic-art thing I remember to do with an Andy Smith was the pencilling of half of Uncanny X-Men 350. Could be getting mixed up on that tho.

Dan Jurgens did the Legion/Titans crossover, UNIVERSE ABLAZE.
He did TALES OF THE LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES #320-325. There's more than that, but that's the most I can find right now.
I've always liked Dan's art. Especially his BOOSTER GOLD series. Beautiful!

Dan also did a number of Legionnaires for the Who's Who in the DCU series! You can check out his art in our very own Encyclopedia Galactica forum!

The only criticism I have of Jurgen's art is that all of his character's costumes have basically the same design. He's pretty consistent, though. No streaky, dirty, grimy stuff with him.

And with a NICE looking page from his Legion arc. I agree with his assesment that the Legionniares needed some "beefing up."

Beefing up is okay but but now they look 25-30, and Violet's absolutely zaftig. Too much of a good thing, imo.
Questionable statement of the week:
"Karate Kid has some cool scenes too. I always love the concept of one guy, with no real powers, who can go take apart an army. It’s a lot more dramatic that the "point the hand and create a wimpy effect" power that so many of ‘em have."
Dan, give me Wildfire's or Live Wire's "wimpy effects" over Karate Kid's inane pummeling any day of the week.
A bit off topic, has anyone heard any details about the mysterious Adam Hughes cover to #35?

Not yet. And I'm monitoring his Yahoo Group which is supposed to get the first look at any of his work before publication. I believe Dean has joined me over there as well. One of us will post the cover as soon as Adam releases it.

Given his rep, I think we can count on some long awaited nudity! Legion in a brown paper wrapper.
