Well I had this idea last month....I'd just joined this site and was pretty impressed to see the number of writers, artists and colourists who posted here.

Sno-Cone blew me away, and then Steve Lightle.....I was severely starstruck to say the slightest.

I'd been to Mr Lightle's website before and was amazed to notice that his domain hadn't been registered under his name. So before some godammn dentists surgery registered it I went ahead and registered www.stevelightle.com .

Now before I get flamed to death for nicking his domain, let me just say that I did it and then contacted Mr Lightle with a view to me hosting his site for free and him using it for his work, or in case he doesnt want to use it, I'll just link it over to his site or something. Hell I'll even transfer it. I just wanted to give something back to someone who has given me so much pleasure over the years with his work for Marvel and DC, especially the Legion.

I'm awaiting a reply from a recent PM I sent to him, but I wanted to get a feel from the Legion Worlders about what they thought?

Anyone think this was a good idea?

Sounds cool to me.

That's a nice gesture, CAL. [Smile]

It's a great idea!

Someone with the same name had registered it in the past, which is why Steve didn't have it. Luckily, that person must have let it lapse.

I think it's a good gesture. I think someone has cybersquatted on davecockrum.com after Dave and his son stopped running his official site.

I really didnt want that to happen. Someone took my name as a domain, and even though I'm not famous it still ticked me off.

I actually just heard from marianne, and it looks like theyre going to stick with the way theyre doing things for some reason, which is a real shame because I was eager to do something as a thank you.

Instead I'll just link it over and put it through the search engines [Smile]

Ah well, its the thought that counts isn't it? [Smile]

The thought counts for a lot. Hopefully, in the exchanges that we have had on this subject, I did manage to express my appreciation for your good intentions.

Your kind offer was very attractive and tempting believe me.

Thanks again.

Steve Lightle

By the way, this was my immediate response to your private message. Remember, you even commented on how quickly I responded?

Oh well, I sure hope that there are no hard feelings.

Steve L.

"Stuart, I just checked my Email and read your very kind offer to host a website. I don't know what to say. Your generosity is overwhelming.

I really wouldn't feel comfortable about accepting such a generous gift, but I do want to thank you for your thoughtfullness.

Thanks for the offer, and for all the kind words on the LegionWorld site.

Sincerely,
Steve Lightle"

Oh god no, no hard feelings at all, its YOUR site after all [Smile]

Admittedly a little disappointed, but how could anyone have hard feelings?

Gonna try and link over to your site today, if I managed to crawl out from our Servers!! [Smile]
