Hi Gail, this thread will be focused on only you since you do not have a thread in the Creators' box alongside Dave Cockrum, Steve Lightle, Chip, and TnT...So why not here? for us, we can start firing away with our concerns, questions, curiousity, etc etc etc...allright? OKay here s my first question and many more to come:
#1 - which female legionnaire do you feel like that you want to write about?
#2 - which legion member do you feel really stand out that has a leadership potential?
#3 - will we see all-girls night out sometimes soon? (I can really dream on, can I ?)

These are just some quotes relating specifically to the Legion, but from what I can see of the rest of the thread this is a creator who enjoys interacting with the fans. I just hope she can find the time to talk to us here at legion world.
"" By the way, while we're at it...
Favorite Legionnaires: Wildfire, Karate Kid, Violet, Chameleon, Timber Wolf, Ultra Boy and Umbra
Favorite Villain: Fatal Five
And I want a damn flight ring.
Back to LEGION talk, I say! I like Apparition, and for some reason, Dreamer gets on my very last nerve.
Thanks! Actually, I love love love Dave Cockrum. The guy can do no wrong, in my eyes, and I think he designed some of the all-time greatest comics costumes. I have talked with him several times and would love to work with him sometime. He's been very enthusiastic about the idea, so I hope it happens!
Oh, and favorite costume is tough. But I frankly thought Karate Kid's outfit with the booties was hot.
As for the Legion, I didn't want to rely on just my memory, so I bought some Archive editions, a ton of back issues, and all the DnA stuff I could find. Mark Waid also bought several of his favorite stories and sent them to me, out of his usual friendship. Mark's a good pal to have!
Sorry about Dreamer. I knew I shoulda just kept quiet on that. She actually plays a big role, and gets some great moments, so maybe you'll forgive me if she's not my favorite.
Thanks for the kind words. As for the Savant story, that's a fair complaint, but four issues for a story that really changed the status quo seems reasonable to me. We'll have to agree to disagree.
Briefly, I was offered to stay on Legion, in fact, but a four-issue arc seemed like a great deal of fun, and when another team became available, I whole-heartedly wanted them to take the book, so I'm glad that's how it worked out, as a reader. I know they're going to kick it HUGE. ""
So I would say that we have a writer who is aware of and has a respect for the history of the legion. She is going to give us her slant on the legion and then hand us over to the permanent team. And I hope I enjoy it.

What? Wildfire is one of her favorites?? I can't wait to see how she handles the Drake -- considering how little spotlight some of our favorites get, I'd be happy with a good scene of Wildfire letting loose.

faraway lad - shh shhh....thanks but I would like to hear from Gail herself as she comes here checking us out....maybe we are better than the DC Message Board and we can hope that we can reel her in here more often than scaring her away. Anyway, Gail still needs to answer some of the questions here...I m now more worried about her treatment on Dreamer...*eek* If she does not like her then why not change her into the person that she will like her?
About Wildfire, I think that Keith Champagne and Steve Lightle will have a spotlight on Wildfire.
another question for Gail #4 - will you please ask the artist give Timber Wolf a nice haircut??? His hair is soooo hmmmm sooooo hmmmm soooooooo 1990ish, huh?

And there's the fourth!

We can't keep her? [pout] I don't see why not, DnA were only supposed to do four issues and they stayed...

I think she said in an interview (or maybe on the DCMB?) that she could have stayed longer but stepped aside for the new creative team because as a Legion fan, she was excited by the idea of them taking over the Legion and making it a big(ger) hit.
