We threw it all away Throw it all away Rolling every way It's irresponsible So civilized I guess you wonder where you are Nature boy, nature man, take me along Deep in the woods we're undiscovered

I'M ABSOLUTELY FREE-- living in the trees! The birdies and the bees-- 'CAUSE I'M A NATURE BOY!!

LASH equals FANDANGO FUN! Google those 3 things together often.
Still, I can't help but think that someday we'll get it right...

You should wear pink shirts, red berets, and Spanish subtitles more often. More festive that way.

I had totally forgotten the BIG OL' CRUSH I had on that ratty-blonde-haired, big-nosed, pink-shirt-wearing dude! *dreamy sigh*

*SPUTTER!!!!!* I'm still in love with Corey--!!!!

I mean, DAMN... just LOOK at him there...!!

SUNGLASSES AT NIGHT only peaked at # 7? I find that hard to believe.
Well, it was his second release that REALLY made me fall for him... even as a teen I was willing to let him carry the weight of my sad times... Posted by lowercase mllash on :
How that chick ever resisted him in that wifebeater and leather jacket is STILL one of my life's unsolved mysteries.

Had enough yet? I suspect you ain't.

Well, I suppose I have one more 80s video-crush story in me...
One can trace my love for little blonde sacks of HOT MESS to this video:
Annie is love, of course... there's so many awesome songs I don't think I can pin one down right now... she is absolutely one of my favorite voices to come out of the 80s.
Posted by lowercase mllash on :
Are you up for awhile, Teeds? I can get into some serious 80s nostalgia, if you are.
Posted by Leap Year Lord on :
You know it...and you're gonna be Annie.
Posted by Leap Year Lord on :
MORE PICS THOUGH!!
Posted by lowercase mllash on :
If you're going to pin me down to just ONE Annie song, it MUST be THIS one.
Yes, I know it isn't 80s nor is it an original... but isn't it safe to say she pretty much OWNS IT FOREVER?!?!
There's not a single lyric of this song I cannot connect with, and her beautiful-eerie delivery is BEYOND COMPARE, MORTALS.

I loooooooved Taco's Puttin' on the Ritz when it came out. I had no idea it was an OLD SONG.
An old song with many, many versions.

As far as favorite 80s voices go...
BOY GEORGE. No, don't scoff. The guy could truly BUST IT OUT in his heyday, like NO OTHER.
I defy anyone to listen to this song and NOT be moved, I truly believe it is impossible NOT to be moved by it:
Of course, Culture Club was blessed with a truly terrific backup vocalist, but still...

We await your answer, Scaramouche. Scaramouche!

Nice pics, Trishelle. At this point I'm only capable of doing drunken --though charming!-- music-related posts!
For a long time, I was a faithful SNL viewer (and still watch on occasion). SNL has alerted me to music acts dating back to the 70s (hello, B-52s)!
In the late 80s, --deep in my angstiest phase-- I'd never quite seen an act like 10,000 Maniacs and the enchanting Natalie Merchant before. So thank you, SNL for the intro!
There was no other song like WHAT'S THE MATTER HERE anywhere at the time, and I was hooked.
Their next album was my favorite, though... and this song from it is one of my all-time favorites, because there must be some creature mighty as you are. Posted by lowercase mllash on :
Oh I could ramble on all night but I probably shouldn't.
So goodnight, and please listen to this song which I can truly state without hyperbole is the pop music equal to 3 weeks of church:
