Ah, fandom. It sure can get nutty. How lovely that usually it's that great kind of nutty, where people with similar interests have a good time and are glad to help each other out.
Good fandom deeds, let's hear about 'em! Big, little, online, real life, comics fandom, other fandoms --- all good.

I have many many MANY just from people here.
Fat Cramer, for instance, hooked me up with a copy of ACTION COMICS featuring Ambush Bug that I could not find (plus other stuff). I could list a crapload more instances like this, but everyone already knows how much LW rocks.

Ebay buyer asks if seller will auction single issue of lot if lot does not sell. Lot doesn't sell, seller offers issue to person free of charge.
Two people who don't know each other, prowling through bargain bins at show: "What are you looking for? I'll pull it if I see it."
YEARS ago, when I bought my first Adventure issue (345, The Execution of Matter-Eater Lad!!) out of a bargain bin, I found out it had part of a page missing. I mentioned this on ye old DCMB, and someone scanned the missing bit for me!
Sentients have loaned me comics, sometimes whole runs. I loved being able to read TMK and Baxter all the way through. Sentients have also flat-out given me comics to help fill in my collection. Thanks, sentients!

The geeks who work at my LCS(Midtown Comics) are the best. They all know I'm a Legion fanatic, so they always save any Legion-related promotional stuff and give them to me. I love those kids!

The older geek who runs the local comic shop, who is infamous for giving nothing to no one, frowned when I said I lost my Legion Flight Ring on the way home and handed me another one.
He told me not to tell anyone because it would ruin his reputation.

If it wasn't for Buffy fandom, and some encouraging words from some really good fanfic writers, I'd never have gotten comfortable with writing fanfic.
And now I use these powers to write Legion fanfic!

Before there were geeks, there were little kids with huge stacks of comics in paper grocery bags and one of those little kids gave me three full bags of her comics. 10 year-old heaven, and a generosity I never forgot.

I don't know if the person in question was a geek or just helping out at the show for the day, but to the one who said "oh, let's just call it good" when I was a few $$ short of cash for my bin buys ---- thanks!
