Ever have an idea for a thread that you never quite got around to posting? Or maybe a sliver of an idea that you couldn't quite figure out how to work into a thread?

Post it here...maybe someone else will help you figure out the details, or take the idea and run/post with it!

Vague? Half-baked? Work-intensive? All good, as long they're ideas you've considered for really-real.

Ideas for other forums? Why not, as long as any resulting threads are started in the right place.

I've forgotten more thread ideas than I could ever hope to recover... I blame-- someone other than me.

But I have always thought it would be neat to post pics of characters who were obviously inspired or homages of our beloved LSH characters and debate the merits of each.

Seemed a bit picture and work intensive though.

like the Imperial Guard characters ?

... I like posting pictures. obviously. I could post pictures of Donna Troy all day.

I once spent way too much time brain-storming a 'real time' role-play thread for the LMB Senate where we'd have outrageous debates over totally fictional things. Like a never-ending discussion where new things are introduced and then dealt with.

Then I thought it might be too much work, too crazy and people would get scared by it...

Might such a thread be a way for me to get an in-road to collaborating with you on something? *checks schedule, clears it*

I admit to being scared... yet strangely aroused by this idea... like an LMB Model UN? As a fan of both COMMUNITY and PARKS & REC, I must throw myself completely behind this idea! The moon joins your coalition!!!!

I would love to run a Mafia game or maybe a Towers. The term Towers refers to the way two lists of characters side by side look like towers. I would also love to run a huge Standard Tournament someday as I have fond memories of them.

I once considered doing a "LMB Superlatives" series of threads where posters would vote on "Sexiest", "Most Beloved" and "Most Legendary"! The latter two would give other posters a chance to supplant the guys who seem to have those titles in perpetuity! [Big Grin]

There should be a thread where a point is being discussed / argued but every post must link to an older LW post and use that linked post to prove their point (or realistically infer or imply it).

I could get into that. People getting scared shouldn't be a prob if we highlight that it's meant to be roleplay [Smile]

Why don't you run a tournament game for Legion characters? Although knowing the people on this forum, such a thread would have to be a simple voting thread with minimal stats, if any. I don't think majority of us really get into tournaments with our "characters".

I was thinking of doing a Pass the Message thread, like one of those kids'/teambuilding pass the message games. Except here, we INTENTIONALLY garble the message being passed around. The only rule is that the message must be garbled, but enough of the original must remain so it be recognizable.

My only problem is, what original message to use? It has to be long enough to give plenty of material, but not so long that people get lazy rewriting it.

I've had a couple of ideas for Bits kicking around for a while, but one I keep coming back to is doing a set of Legion Tarot cards.

I've got all the Major Arcana mapped out in my head (ex: Timber Wolf as the Hermit card, Mordru as the Devil, the Planetary Chance Machine as the Wheel of Fortune) but I just don't know if I have good enough art skills to pull it off.

[Hmmm?] ...

Posted by Power Boy on :

would just photoshoping existing images of the Legionnaires into an existing tarot card frame be not enough for what you're thinking ?

Ages ago I was hatching an idea for a "talk show" (like The View, I guess?) with 3 or 4 different Legion character hosts and they'd have guests and the "audience" (anyone posting) could chime in. I don't remember all my picks for hosts, other than Mekt. I didn't even get around to asking him, which is just as well because he'd probably be a terror in contract negotiations. And then the DC boards blew up.

We have SO MANY beautiful graemlins. Sure, we use them, but maybe we can think of more ways to recognize and celebrate their jeanyus.

Maybe a thread where we tell a story using graemlins?

If you don't mind, TD, I shall get around to starting one.

I have a half worked out idea for a thread called "The Menace of [Fill-in-the-blank]", which has something to do with LMBers being expelled or banned or something for minor infractions of the LMB constitution.

hmmm, I just came across an article about the 'Bad Romances' of the Teen Titans ...

A couple Included are :

1) A neanderthal and Lilith
2) Deathstroke and Terra

A list of all the bad Teen Titans relationship has got to be almost as much fun as the Titans 'Faces of Death' thread. and be worth at least 5 pages.

A 'Bad Romance' thread dosn't even have to be Titans exclusive ...

"Avengers - Bad Romance"

Scarlet Witch + Vision !

I actually took a crack at a thread like that years ago. I scrapped it though because I was very dissatisfied with my designs.

Do you really need an excuse? How about making an "Obscure Character of the Month" thread, like Leap Year Lord's Titan du Jour Thread on the Titans forum?

*edited - I mistakenly credited Power Boy as the thread originator. My sincerest apologies to Leap Year Lord!

While an awesome idea, it kind of defeats the original point... which is that I had the perfect title for a Mara Williams thread.

Posted by Invisible Brainiac on :

Yeah, but you could change the thread title for each new character. So when Mara Williams' turn comes up, change it to "Mara-thon".

Or, well...

I demand that Eryk Davis Ester start a Mara Williams Thread!

^ and that can be your excuse [Razz]

Oopsie, my bad. Power Boy's been posting there a lot, but he wasn't the thread originator. My sincerest apologies.

Graemlin of the week sounds awesome, Teeds, especially since the "Graemlin Tell A Story" thread hasn't been attracting attention.

Great, junk mail from Bismoll.

Okay, here's one:

Dear Teeds,

The Anywhere Machine doesn't get huge traffic, which is weird because that's the forum for anything within reason, right? So what's up with that?

Is it one of those "it's so crowded no one goes there anymore" deals?

Comments, suggestions?

I think threads with "ENLARGE" in the title understandably scare off most sentients.

But I do like the music.

I'm afraid of this thread.

What if it turns out that all the thread subjects in the multi-verse have already been posted?

It'll be like the final scene in one Portlandia ep. The editor of a hipster music site announced that he'd just seen the Last Ever New Idea In Music, so the site would be shutting down-- effective immediately.

I'd hate for that to happen to Legion World.

I will occasionally think about starting an "Anywhere Machine" thread where I attempt to determine the exact location of Bugs Bunny's home point of origin by cross referencing all of his accidental points of arrival (achieved by failing to take a left turn at Albuquerque) against his stated intended destinations (had he taken that turn), where a "left turn" is defined anything less than 180 degrees.

Hmmm... someday.

Given that we already have a Petty Officer Marvin the Martian in the LMB-verse, and a Petty Officer Bugs as well, would it make sense to integrate more Looney Tunes type characters into the LMB?

I can just see us having fun tormenting a poor Elmer Fudd type. And we could have a Daffy Duck type Anti-Moderator who yells at everybody who double posts.
