Ye, we often poke fun - with him OR at him.

But he really is one hell of a guy (those of you who have never met him are really missing out!!!), and this wonderful community really needs to salute our favorite gran'pa!

YAY, Abin!

Let's all post our favorite Abin Quank moments.

for me, I have a hard time choosing which.
But driving around Sandy Eggo, plotting out the comic book version of the Adventures of Everyday Girl is the first thing that comes to mind.

Abin? Not bad for a New Kid. [Wink]

None are my favorite because they are all so good.

Let's. At least 1 delightful sensual misunderstanding required.

woohoo!

[clears throat, looks out at audience]

Remember that time at the Stumptown Comics fest when we didn't have enough booze for Sketchy's gallery reception, so Abin used his power ring to turn all the bottled water into absinthe?

Of course, I hate absinthe with a passion, but it's the thought that counts! Plus, all the cute little PDX alterna-hipsters at the show were super-impressed!

And then that one auburn-haired hottie in the orange gingham capri pants kept hitting on Abin by asking all those leading questions about "recharging," but he was totally modest and pretended not to notice.

I am!

He used to read me bedtime comics and his Mordru voice SCARED the HELL out of ME! (not as much as his Lana Lang voice, but still...)

Remember the time Abin ran for president on the Green Lantern Party platform?

Posted by MLLASH on :

Now I wanna hear Abin's Lana Lang voice.

The San Diego 2008 Abin Experience would be hard to beat.

But thinking about the one-and-only Wizard World Boston get together - where I believe Abin singlehandedly changed DC convention policy - always makes me smile.

ha! good one, OM.

I still remember posting as Cobie on Abin's laptop, too - and locking him out of his own account for 5 minutes or so (no joke).

Also... Abin's era of terror atop the Stratosphere in Vegas.

Speaking of laptops, Abin saw my mini-notebook in Sandy Eggo and said "Even his laptop is cute!"

Posted by MLLASH on :

I was never prouder of him than when he graduated with honors from my Ultra-Hep Kewlness Klass!

Mr. Tabor? How've you been?

Posted by Fat Cramer on :

I'll never forget the day I discovered he was only posing as a mild-mannered janitor.

Chuck is awesome! My favorite moments are the various times I’ve met him and just the larger than life personality he has. More specifically, probably when he robbed the DC booth in Boston. [Big Grin]

Plus, the way he writes Space Ranger is a contender for the longest running hilarious part of Legion World.

The way he writes me? Cobie we've been partners for years and now I find out that you think I'm nothing but a figmint of Abin's imagination?

I don't know what to say...

Truth and Justice Shall Prevail!
(Wait a minute... Abin... Why is your hand... Oh Shit! Now I know why Thora was able to use the Golden Dildo of Taltar on me so easily... Stop That! Get your arm out of there!)

Maybe in honor of the old man, we can let the 'kill-this-thread' thread lay untouched today.

Posted by Fanfic Lady on :

That'll be tough for me, since the current topic is my beloved comic strip Peanuts, but I'll do as you suggest and leave it untouched. [Good]

no one else is, alas. and the topic has passed. no good deed goes unpunished.

Sorry.

Also, I still owe him a bar T-Shirt.

Tsk.

As a new kid, he really made it a point to get to know everyone else on the team. What a guy!
