Fun! I'm examining the last page on the MMB to see who posted last to the threads on them to form an all-new all-exclusive club...

From page 156 (the last page):

Fat Cramer

Matlock

The Big Bad

Freekdkid

Nightcrawler

Nardo

Eryk Davis Ester

Lightning Lad (x2)

He Who Wanders

CHARTER MEMBERS!

LL/Scott can be leader since he killed 2 threads and He Who Wanders gets to be the inspiration for the team since his post has kept a thread dead the longest!

Nice to know that I can inspire something.

Leapin' jeepers! My starting THIS thread has cause another thread to join the last page... and it's last post belongs to DrakeB3004!

He's the newest member!!!

Posted by MLLASH on :

HWW, your post is in re: to our brief stay on Rob's damn board and the formation of LEGION WORLD that it brought about. Man, the time flies...

Posted by MLLASH on :

Uh oh... has HWW just been ousted from the team...?

Posted by MLLASH on :

Welcome newest member FARAWAY LAD!

Posted by He Who Wanders on :

I just re-read that thread, Lash. Did you notice your statement that Rob's board had affected you so badly that you had a low post count on LW so far? My, how things change.

And I suppose I've learned that if I want to kill a thread, it's best to get all philosophical ("a speed bump of life." Sheesh!).

Posted by MLLASH on :

I thought your post was nice!!

And of course, everyone knew my low post count would never last...

Exploring old threads can be kinda kewl...

I'll gladly give up my membership in this esteemed club to preserve a slice of LW history.

I myself am amazed the last page isn't full of old posts by me, Teeds and EDE... Boy, how we used to rattle on about nothing... *meloncholy sigh*

And one wonders, is this the correct spelling of 'meloncholy'?

Thanks.

The correct spelling is "melancholy."

Posted by MLLASH on :

I miss spell check! Thank you!

And it occurs to me... I'll bet most of the threads me, Teeds and EDE killed are on the LEGION board...

Wow, HWW... is it odd that we've all been posting for so many years together? Or just oddly cool?

Posted by He Who Wanders on :

I'll go for "oddly cool."

I was just thinking how different my life was in July 2003, when I posted that threadkiller. I was still typing obits for a living, my father had passed away less than a year ealier, and I had bought the car I still drive two months before.

I was a year and a half away from meeting the woman I would later become involved with. However, I had just joined a local comics creators network and would have my first story published in September.

My online LW relationships have lasted longer than some of my "real world" relationships of that time.

So, yes, "oddly cool." [Yes]

I have perfected rattling on about nothing. I have perfectly rattled on about nothing all year.

Posted by Fat Cramer on :

I suspect I shall always be an honoured member of the Threadkillers Guild and I appreciate this long overdue recognition.

Perhaps he meant "meloncholy". Meloncholy being an abnormal state attributed to an excess of honeydew and characterized by fruitiness or flamboyance

Posted by He Who Wanders on :

You could be right, Quis.

If one has too much honeydew, could one suffer from melonoma?

Posted by cleome on :

How many years do my victims have to retain their state of inertia before I can join?

[Confused]

Posted by He Who Wanders on :

Well, it took the rest of us six years to get recognition . . . [shrug]

Posted by cleome on :

[Roll Eyes]

I'll go listen to the 825 LPs in the living room while I wait, unless I decide to hock them first.

[sigh]

Posted by MLLASH on :

I demand a list of the first LPs Cleome would listen to if this fact indeed comes to fruition! or Melonition... whatever...

Posted by Thriftshop Debutante on :

Why didn't I think of hocking threads? Damn!

Posted by MLLASH on :

I've hocked threads at the vintage store...

I'd probably alternate the beginning and the end of the alphabet, until I got to the center of the collection. So I guess the first play would be Toshiko Akiyoshi's Kogun followed by an EP by the Lester Young Trio.

(Actually, that sounds like great chore-accompanying music. 'Scuse me.) [Nightcrawler]

Looks like someone is making a run for Lightning Lad's position, though.

I smell a coup d'etat!

Posted by Fat Cramer on :

Just because I didn't kill a thread on page 15 doesn't mean I'm some washed-up ex-threadkiller.

You're still in the Golden-Age Threadkillers Guild, Cramey!!

The page 15 bunch of us are Silver-Age group!

Who are the jokers who killed all my statue threads? That list shall surely include several blood enemies! ( Or me.)

I did it.

Me and my little time machine.

Ppppppphhhhttt!

I don't believe in killing threads. I'm a Living Thread proponent.

However, if page 15 is any indication, Future King should probably be wearing a Hannibal Lecter mask when he posts.

I note that I am not on this list. I prefer to think of myself as a threadlifegiver than a threadkiller.

Posted by Invisible Brainiac on :

Of the Top 10 posters, only three (Dev-em, Quis and myself) aren't on the Top Threadkillers List.

I can only conclude that we have some as yet unidentified superpower that compels people to reply to our posts, and thus gives life to threads.

(edited for spelling)

I think LAM and Stealth (Hi Fanfie) were just playing thread-killer tic-tac-toe. And both of them won!
