Tonight, I stopped at my parents for birthday cake, and right now I'm having a wonderful time catching up on the latest here at Legion World, with a disc of Julian Cope B-sides playing in the background.

Nice low-key celebration this year: an early dinner at a small family-run Italian place (and yes, I did order pizza) followed by cake, ice cream, and presents at my parents' condo; we went our own ways early, since tomorrow's a workday.
Each year, I feel a little bit less self-conscious about my refusal to grow up. And that feels good.

I took the day off so that my mom and I could have a nice leisurely birthday lunch out at a local landmark. Besides, I don't like going out at night.
I got together with my friends last weekend, and will be getting together with both my parents this weekend for the cake and candles.

Tomorrow I may treat myself to a movie, most likely "Clash of the Titans." Loved the original back in grade school. Or just stay at home and watch more episodes of "Mission: Impossible."
On Sunday afternoon, I'm getting together with friends for a second birthday celebration.
