It's the guns.

I am grown up and I dont like it. [Smash] Can I be little again? Stupid Stupid Stupid time making me older. [TimeTrapper] [Razz]

Posted by Fat Cramer on :

I agree. I won't grow up! I won't! You can't make me!

(But I will eat my lima beans. [Big Grin] )

Posted by Kent Shakespeare on :

being a grown-up is waaaay over-rated.

Posted by Frio on :

So I hear. [Wink] When I grow up, I'm going to marry rich so I never have to take a dumbass receptionist job like the one I have now.

Wait - damn it! I think it might be too late. [Frown]

[sigh] Someone pass the lima beans. I need comfort food.

When I grow up, the world will kneel before me as I claim the glorious prize that is my birthright. I'm thinking posh palaces, powers over life and death, my exploits recounted in song and story.

Posted by Spellbinder on :

Do you have a secondary plan, Tamper dear... just in case the first one doesn't pan out? [Smile]

Darwyn Cooke's DC: The New Frontier, Chapter 9, Page 20, Panel 2. I believe it's near the end of Issue 4 of the mini-series. It's the scene with the caption "What flashed before my eyes was the life I never had"

Some achieve advisordom, others have it thrust upon them.
Then there are those of us who are born advisors.

With Rick Flagg and the love of his life holding hands...great scene Tamper.

Oh, and er, my virgin ears can't handle such innuendo!

The scene in question.

 -

When I first read this comic, I wondered why Rick Flagg would retire on Georgian Bay. Then I read Cooke's bio and figured it out. Note the maple leaf, that panel's gotta be Canadian Thanksgiving weekend in cottage country.

So if I can't have the universe, I'll take Muskoka as long as I get the soulmate too.

I'd retire on Georgian Bay anyday. I grew up on Lake Huron and my soul is tied to that lake.

Well, what are you doing Thursday? That looks like a good day to retire.

I wish. Oh how I wish.

Posted by Tamper Lad on :

Indeed it was sunny and unseasonably warm today... Unfortunately I was stuck in the city. [Frown] I did manage to make it to the waterfront this afternoon.

Posted by Fat Cramer on :

With climate change, soon the waterfront will manage to make it you!

Tell me about it Joey! I'm gonna be 25 in a mere 9 months! *gulp*

25 is the first time I can recall driving past a group of teenagers and having the following thought.

"Look at that group of kids, they must be up to no good"

Posted by Lad Boy on :

At 25,
My efforts toward a phD in math had not come to a grinding halt.
I wore a belt to keep my 31 inch jeans up.
I had either stopped or was about to stop reading the legion until 2004.

There are people who post on this board who were born when I was 25.

Oldest 25-year-old ever. Jeez... what a dork!!

19 and proud. [Smile] Best of all -- Tamper Lad is 10 years older than me. So I can mock him. And the mocking... it is joyous. [Big Grin]

Okay, you all know I am old (I turn 46 in December) and what the hell, it's okay. I mean inside I fon't feel any different then I did when I was in my 20's. But for fun, for over a year now I have been playing City of Heroes and now City of Villains with an alternate personality who is only 20 years old. I really should have been an actress, or should get off my lazy butt and write, because I am really good at carrying off this ruse. And I have a blast as not being 'me' and getting out of my real head and all my real problems for a while. Anyway, it's what keeps me young lately [Wink]

Posted by Tamper Lad on :

Why must i be mocked for fearing teenagers. Very well at 25 I was using my skills to maniupulate teenagers to my will. And enjoying it too, I might add. BWAHAHA.

As for being 29, (and 10 years older than you) perhaps you'd volunteer to be bent to my will as well. It's been a while [Drool] .

I think I was Canadian in a previous lifetime... probably why I'm such a canadaphile (?) today...

This thread gives me an idea ...

Ohmygod, I don't want to grow up. I want to stay young and care-free forever.

But if I have to grow up, I want to be a Cowboy...

Are all the disappeared posters from early on in this thread now officially classed as grownups?

Huh. Maybe someday they'll come back and tell the rest of us what it's like...
