it's great to be back from my holiday in Thailand !!! Paul and i had such an amazing time, we loved it !!!
Bangkok was really interesting, so much going on, and so much more bigger than i had imagined !!!
the people are SO nice, they can't be more helpful !!! and our 7 days in Phuket, were just brilliant !!! we had such a relaxing time, our hotel and private beach area, were a real paradise island !!!
we'd certainly go again, and recommend anyone else to go also .....
i took quite a lot of photo's [ 188 in total, just my digital camera !!! ] but i've shortened that down to around 40 or so, that i may post !!!???
i'll post them over the next few days .....

the hotel we stayed at in Bangkok was called the Shangri-La and it's the greatest hotel we've stayed at ever !!!
we had this cool private "check-in" on the 20th floor, it was called the "Horizon Club" floor, and if you were staying in the 3 remaining floors above it, we got to have these complimentary drinks and food, each evening [ between 5.30 and 7.30pm !!! it was great we went every night .... ]

this is at one of the "night markets" !!! they are pretty wild !!! they start around 8pm and finish at 2am !!!
they are full of tourists and traders selling "copies" !!! sunglasses, t-shirts, DVDs, CDs etc .....
but also there are bars, and sex clubs, there are reps outside trying to get you to go in, and have a masssage, or "something" !!! and there are also go go girls "dancing" and "using" ping pong balls !!!
we didn't go in any of them though ....

and we were only there for 2 and a half days ....

okay these next lot of photo's are when we got to Phuket !!! which was such a nice place, the hotel we stayed at was another amazing one !!! it was called The Chedi and it was right on it's own beach, it was built into the hill side and each room was like a little cottage or tree house that were connected together with walk-ways !!!
kinda like the Ewok village in "Return of the Jedi" !!!

we went into the center of Phuket quite a few times in the evening, it was very busy and commercial here !!!
loads of bars, restaurants and markets / stalls selling fake goods again !!!

Finally got my good connection back. The pics are fabulous (and the ones with all the buildings in them aren't bad either )!
Thailand looks like a lovely place. My dad was stationed there during the Vietnam War, and it's one country I definitely would like to visit.

i'd recommend everyone to go to Thailand, it's such a great place, and i'm so glad that i went, because at first, i wasn't that up for going there, i wanted to go somewhere else !!!
but it was a brilliant surprise, and i'd definitely go again .....

This thread has inspired me to finally go to Thailand in 2013!
I've wanted to go since 2010, but just couldn't find the time. My 's sister invited us to Malaysia instead. Then, we chanced upon cheap tickets to Jakarta, and since we always wanted to go to Borobodur, we picked those.
I've also been to Cambodia, Vietnam and Singapore, but not yet Thailand. I already have an itinerary planned out though Posted by Set on :
