Welcome, one and all, to the newly refurbished Legion World Embassy. I am Crujectra, Goodwill Ambassador of Legion World, Princess of the planet Psyonia, and member of the Legion of Message Board Posters.
All are welcome within the Embassy, whether they are seeking shelter, guidance, or just a really nice diplomatic ball. What can I say? Balls are popular with the inhabitants of Legion World.
So please, make yourselves comfortable.

Where To Turn When You Need A Hand
Is something on the board bothering you? Perhaps you think the content is becoming a little too lewd. Or you find a particular poster to be rude. Well, fighting fire with fire isn't always the best course of action. However there is a place to turn.
Send a PM to one of the moderators. It doesn't really matter which one you choose... pick one you like or trust. Now, this doesn't mean that the moderator is going to tell someone to stop doing what they are doing. What they CAN do, however, is either discuss the problem with the site owners or, if appropriate, they can start a thread to open a discussion on the topic.
For instance, if you think someone is being a little too explicit in their sexual innuendos. A moderator can begin a dialogue with the posters, suggesting that perhaps some people are getting a little too explicit, and that perhaps we should all be mindfull of the other people that post here who might be offended by such talk. Other posters could then offer opinions on the topic, and perhaps the whole situation could be resolved without any hurt feelings or accusations.
The moderators would, of course, be discrete in such situations. There would be no reason in this instance for naming names, so the person looking for help would be able to remain anonymous in the matter.
The moderators are here to help. We can do more than delete a double post or move a thread to a different forum. We can also act as a go-between to help resolve matters before they get out of hand.
Legion World is there for everyone to enjoy. I don't think it is unreasonable to ask that a little compromising be done from time to time to enable everyone to be comfortable posting here.
Please be advised that these are my thoughts on the matter, and may not be shared by the site owners and/or other moderators Posted by DrakeB3003 on :
Well said -- we have obviously chosen wisely in electing our leader. This is getting to be the Weber's World thread on this forum -- thanks for the calm voice of moderation and understanding.

Lovely, Intelligent, Thoughtful, Charming, and Charismatic, as usual.
BTW, Have you ever considered runninig for Public Office?
Posted by Ambassador Crujectra on :
You guys are gonna make me blush.
I just try to see both sides of a situation whenever possible. And I know that it can be hard to approach someone when you have a problem with what they are doing. Having someone moderate for you can be very helpful sometimes. And if the moderators can help ease a conflict before it gets out of hand, well doesn't that just benefit everyone in the long run?

you are the bestest Cru.

Hey just a thought for what it's worth. Shouldn't there be a "newbies" thread (maybe better called new posters help help thread) that could be flagged so it stayed up on top that cariied things like Crujecta's post above and other things like what each board is for etc. I had a bit of a hard time figuring things like that out and other than just asking, there's not really someplace with info like that.
Posted by Eryk Davis Ester on :
That's a good idea, MK! I'd thought about suggesting that we add this to the "Rules" thread, but it might be better to pack it in with other bits of helpful advice rather than as a hard-and-fast rule.
Posted by Ambassador Crujectra on :
Perhaps we could headline something in the Science Police HQ forum?
I think it should be a thread that only a few people should be able to actively post to, if such a thing is possible. Otherwise the "important" points would get spread out kinda far by people posting comments on it. If people want to discuss the contents, they can always start a separate thread.

As a 'newbe' I would appreciate something along those lines. Another thing that would be helpful to 'newbe's' is a list of people to whom it would be appropriate to pose questions or ask for advice.
Posted by Ambassador Crujectra on :

Well, in general you can ask any moderator for answers or advice. If its something that the moderator can't answer (or doesn't have the authority to take care of), they can either point you in the right direction or act as your mediary.
Whoever are the current Ambassadors is also a good choice. At the moment, for instance, you could ask either myself or Eryk Davis Ester for assistance.
Beyond that, though, you can ask any poster who you feel comfortable with. Everyone here is pretty nice, and will probably be willing to offer assistance is you ask.
Of course, now that I've typed all this it occurs to me that you weren't necessarily asking for a list right now, but suggesting one for later. Oh well

FC, you may not be fully recuperated and therefore unaware of the fact that the Empress willingly fought Tarik, the Android, Winema Wazzo and the Evil Queen by your side in defense of Legion World as chronicled in the Fight Against Thora tag team thread.
After the battle she used the Emerald Eye of Ekron to keep you and Super Lad Kid alive until the LMBP could get you to a medilab for treatment.

i think we need a summit ...
Posted by Fat Cramer on :
Hmmm...either nobody knows or nobody wants to admit to it.... maybe Cobalt Kid has records in the Security Office?
Are those body parts in the pool??
Posted by Cobalt Kid on :
Well, I'm not exactly sure who has meant before, but I do know this: the first LMBers to ever meet (I think) were Beagle Boy and Lash, which started a grand tradition. Since then, a variety of LMBers have met, especially Stu, who seems to have met more LMBers than anyone (somewhere near ten now isn't Stu). I eagerly await for his full summary, as he promised to post it on the Who's Who thread. Also, in Britain, a large group of British LMBers met (about six) about a year an a half ago, which must have been great!
Personally, I can't wait to meet an LMBer. I feel a bit ashamed however, as Poverty Lad and I have been amazingly close in distance to one another for some time now and have never met, while Stu has travelled all the way to CT to meet him. I feel it's about time for me to set up a date to meet Pov (since I still go to UCONN about three times a week on average to visit my girlfriend and other old college buddies). Pov, what do you say? I think we're overdue!
Someone please post your LMB meeting experiences! I know Ultra Matt has met some people, and I'm eagerly awaiting to hear Stu's play by play!

Well, actually I was already in Hartford for business, but I didn't mind going for a little drive.
The first LMBPer I ever met was Terence (Lost In Lust Lad), which is appropriate because I think he was the first person I ever e-mailed from the boards. Also, appropriately enough, the second LMBPer I met was Brian (formerly known as bellbookcandle and then Seahorse), because he was probably the second person on the boards that I really connected with. During that trip to London, I also met Paul (Looks That Kill Lad), my video game and Pokemon buddy.

Yeah, I signed it myself.
(But let's keep that just between us, OK? I don't want everyone knowing my secret identity.)

is that Jabber fellow playing the drums? how odd to see a shark acting like that ...

Apparently, he also only has seven teeth. I suppose it's rather difficult to snap up dolphins and human skinny dippers when you're so dentally impaired for a shark...

And I'm sorry, but he calls THAT a dorsal fin? Pathetic, really (or perhaps I'm just spoiled )

I don't know, but he seems to be grooving on that guitar.
Unfortunately he seems to have been less than endowed.

That seven-toothed anthropomorphic shark probably ate 'em. Saw the idea of another band as too threatening to the one he's in.
Posted by Cobalt Kid on :
Yeah, who else wants to be in the Legion World band? I'll play lead guitar or bass...

in homage to Jabberjaw, I was hoping to play the drums ... I had also planned on dieing by choking on vomit (mine or someone else's) or spontaneously combusting ... but if you want 'em ...
Posted by Semi Transparent Fellow on :
I can do the cymbals. They are the most under-appreciated instrument, so stop your smirking. Bar-tenders have art too.
Posted by Fat Cramer on :
"Crimes of Depravity" - gotta love it. Maybe you could make it the name of your band.
Can I be a groupie?

I always knew you were a pretty cymbalic guy, Semi.
Posted by STU on :

Of course! We'd love at least two or three.
And, Sharky, of course you can have the drums. I've decided, upon reflection, to take instruments that are even MORE under-appreciated than cymbals: the deadly triangle-and-castanets combo!

The Talking Heads?

Well, it looks like they only know about two chords, so I'm gonna say KISS.
Posted by Cobalt Kid on :
So, we still need a lead singer. Any takers?
Posted by Varalent on :
I don't think I'm good enough to be a lead singer but I'd be a great back up singer! (Then again, considering some of the voices I hear on the airwaves, maybe I'm over qualified to be lead singer!
Posted by Emerald Empress on :
I'll play the tamborine and sing back up. And my Eye can provide the pyrotechnic effects!
Posted by Kid Prime on :
Well, not to toot my own horn, but I'm pretty incredible. So I'll sing lead.
Posted by Varalent on :
Posted by Varalent on :
Just kidding, KP! I'd love to back you up!
Posted by Outdoor Miner on :
OK, so far we have:
KP (lead vocals) Varalent (backing vocals) Emerald Empress (backing vocals, tambourine, pyrotechnics) Cobie (bass and/or lead guitar) Semi (percussion) Stu (percussion) Sharky (drums) OM (Mellotron, theremin, samples)
We could be a Magma* tribute band. Which works for me, but we might want a little more flavor in the instrumentation.
(* - Magma: obscure French prog band. Played Klingon opera before such a thing had a name.)

Nah. This Embassy thread was just mine, really. I figure the new Leaders will want to start their own next week.
Plus, I was bored and the name change amused me
Posted by Eryk Davis Ester on :
So the band will have plenty of space to practice then, huh?
Posted by Fat Cramer on :
Well, if that's the case, I might be interested in a rental, depending on the outcome of the electionsl. I could use some diplomatic immunity. Really, Cru, you've been entirely too kind-hearted with all the riff-raff camped out here. I wouldn't mind opening the outer courtyard to them, but privacy is a blessing. Guess that's just the old noblesse oblige shining through.

The Princess knows that I constantly post in this thread because of the big crush I have on her
That's why we have the band here, as a tribute to her and Eyrk Davis Ester and his nelly cap!

Oh, and the Triumvirate would never attack the Embassy! That's why our armies are far away in distant lands. We would never break tradition and cross the Rubicon .
The Triumvirate was formed in response the underhanded politics occuring on Legion World, but it looks like that's all coming to an end soon...

Princess,
It is my firm belief that this topic thread should remain headlined/highlighted until such time as the New Leader is Inaugurated.
STU and HWW may very well decide that this thread should remain in it's place of prominence as a Tribute to the Contributions You Made as the First Elected Leader of Legion World.
Truth and Justice shall Prevail! (and if they don't I'll start the recall)

Announcing the Grand Opening of the Princess Crujectra Center!
Formerly known as the Crujectra Administration Building, this newly renovated building is dedicated to supporting the arts and culture of Legion World. Included within these walls are theaters and the United Planets Museum, which features exhibits from across the galaxy.
The Center is funded by a mixture of public donations and the Crujectra Trust.
Posted by Future on :
Beautiful facility, Crujectra!
I like the renovations. Will there be guided tours for the museum?
Posted by Space Tart on :
Crujeckie,
I’d like to apply for a position as a curator of this center, if you’ll have me. As two of the longest serving LMB females, we’ve always had a great relationship and I’d be honored to work side by side with you.
Besides, the boys are usually blown around by a bombshell that’s well cultured too!
*tee hee
Posted by Fat Cramer on :
At last! A cultural center for Legion World! Thank you to Lady Cru & the Crujectra Trust.
Umm...how come I was never asked to make a financial donation? Was somebody selling chocolate bars?

And Spacey and Crujeckie: what a team! Maybe Shady should work here too?

We Legion World ladies will have a grand ol' time!
Of course, if it's OK with the Princess!
Posted by HighPriestessViviane on :
Great job of fair Lady.
Theaters? Does that mean you'll have stage plays being performed? If not I have one that could be fun to do...
Posted by Lady Crujectra on :
There are a variety of theaters in the Center, showcasing the finest stage plays from around the United Planets.
And there are always places available for industrious young women (although I think lollipop distribution might not be *quite* appropriate at this establishment )
Posted by HighPriestessViviane on :
I was thinking more of doing 'A Streetcar Named Desire."
We could have Cobalt Kid as the abusive, yet gorgeous Stanley, if he can handle the stage.
Posted by Lady Crujectra on :
Opening soon for a limited engagement:
The legendary poster known as Cobalt Kid!
The renowned star of stage and screen, Foxy Roxy!
in the stage production of:
A Hovercar Named Desire!
(note: all proceeds from this performance will be donated to the Legion World Planned Parenthood Center)

I owe it all to you, milady! I'm overwhelmed by all the accolades and my agent's phone has been ringing non-stop with offers for various projects.
And really, Foxy Roxy was brillant--I'd be shocked if she didn't win the Bluklach!

Well, I have to say that Gharlak the Khund deserved the Bucklach, but I'm honored that he mentioned me in his acceptance speech and called me an 'inspiration' to the arts.
Foxy Roxy definately deserved hers though for "Female in a Leading Role" and I'm very proud of her! I can't wait to see what our next project will be, as she's agreed we should work together again!
