Guess I can't be the member of the moment then, I can't afford it. I'm not some scary rich old Canadian landowner.

Of course Scott and I are the only members, so I guess that helps.
And I think that's unfair!
Actually I've even seen you listed here, Gary, as the member of the moment. I've never caught myself in the listing though. The title does seem to rotate through the whole membership roll so sooner or later everyone will have their chance to shine. So make it worth it! Add something to your profile to make it stand out.

When I went to Homecoming my senior year of high school, my date and I double dated with another couple. Julie and Jon were clearly very much in love, and were that night, but were also giddy beyond reason when we went out to eat. I wondered what was going on, but held my tongue. My date Kathy was unfazed by it.
Fast forward three months, to the January start of the new semester. Julie didn't show up for the senior class session in physics. I remarked at her not being there. Kathy gave me her best oh-you-clueless-twit look (yep, we hadn't kept dating) and explained to me that Julie had been ... married the night before. A very private ceremony. And that she was expecting a child in June, and had left school to be tutored for the final semester. Apparently she and Jon had done *ahem* far more than simply get dressed up for dinner and the dance, three months before.
Everybody in our circle knew it all for weeks, except me. Some friends! It took about ten minutes, but I picked up my jaw from the floor of Mr. Gesiriech's physics lab and got on with my life. (This was a white-bread suburban high school, by the way. Yes, it's a dime-a-dozen tale many places, but not there, in the '70s.)
Why am I telling you all this? No particular reason, except I like to talk (no, really ?!?) and I'm getting a touch of the same feeling now. Why do you all seem to know what the hell you're talking about, with this Member of the Minute whatever, and I don't? {g}
PS. I realized the other day that Julie's little girl is just getting out of graduate school this month. That's really why I thought of it. Boy, I feel old *sigh*

Well, hell's bells! I should learn to scroll down the page, shouldn't I?
Does this thing pick someone at random each time you access the page?
And since this shows "actual" ranks, not custom titles, I wonder if the brackets for who gets what rank are posted anywhere. I haven't seen those, either. Still don't feel like I'm among the cool kids {g}
