I've sometimes thought Bon Scott may have been a closet case. He was publicly homophobic, and yet his lyrics and vocal for "Big Balls" are as camp as Freddy Mercury.

Older stuff is creepy in its own special way. Rogers & Hammerstein's Carousel or any part of Guys and Dolls, for instance. If you pay attention to the messages, you start to feel like Saw: The Musical would be more wholesome entertainment.

True story: even though I hate Nirvana, I listened to Sinead O'Connor's cover of "All Apologies" of my own free will, thinking maybe it was just that I hated Turd Cobain's voice. Nope. The song was still crap.
