Today's breakfast was whole wheat waffles with turkey sausage. I had to doctor the recipe a little, though, because whole wheat flour tends to make everything dryer and heavier than the plain type does. On the plus side, it's a lot more filling than just plain white flour.
Plenty of leftovers to go in the toaster on Saturday, too!

This morning's brunch didn't start out well. I broke a bowl right after sweeping the floor. Talk about mis-timing!
On the plus side, the waffle batter finished out with just enough left to end up an even number of waffles. That's very unusual. I choose to interpret this as a blessing on our future leadership team-- whichever one it may be.

The Sleepy Hollow Syrup Co. might still be around if they had sold their maple syrup in bottles shaped like decapitated heads just like my great, great grand daddy, Ezekiel "Waffles" Zebadiah, had suggested.

Safeway always has lacked a certain panache when it comes to packaging and design.
