No joke: THIS was a club at my mom's high school, I just saw it in her yearbook. (i've excluded the photo of the members ... cause i dont know them) here is the description.
Bilbo Baggins is listed as a member, but no frodo, legolas, etc. what a bunch of hippies! why couldn't my high school have a club like this??

I have a job interview tomorrow, which means that I desperately need a haircut today. Am planning to go get one after lunch.
My glasses are in terrible shape and look dirty even when they're clean. Too bad there's nothing that I can do about that. [grumble]

Thanks, rhino. I don't expect that I'll find anything out one way or the other until tomorrow, or maybe even Monday.
OTOH, my hair looks better than it has in a coupla' years...

Last night I went to a high school production of Snow White. Two of my great nephews were in it. The younger one played one of the dwarves (they were not the same names as the Disney version) The older one had a main role as the comedic Sir Pompous. He did quite well, taking prat falls, talking in a funy voice, and even singing. The students who played the evil queen, her sister the wicked witch, and the magic mirror also did a very good job.

I am currently listening to Brave New World on CD when in the car. I now understand Kid Charlemagne's birthday greetings.

Sometimes I'm tempted to make up a list of all the times in movies, comic books, and so on that the evil remorseless killer was somehow left all alone and unsupervised in prison long enough to get free and commit all kinds of mayhem. Though the people who were keeping him/her jailed supposedly had a lot in the way of brains.
Then I realized that I'd never be able to leave the computer once I got started.

I am fascinated when I see racism and misogyny in old cartoons, comic books, and TV shows.
I am watching some of the old Fleischer Superman cartoons and just saw Japoteurs and Jungle Drums.
