Coffee would probably help. [sets up entire LMB]

...found out that a friend of mine from grad school whom I had not heard from in many years died last Thanksgiving.
This particular guy said one of the sweetest things anyone has ever said to me. He was straight and he knew I had a huge crush on him. He quoted Jack Nicholson's character in the movie As Good As It Gets (which had come out the previous year) and said "I'd be the luckiest man alive".
He had a lot of problems, drinking among them, and dropped out of the program before getting his degree. The last time I heard from him was by e-mail about nine years ago. He had hit bottom and was being very negative, almost abusive, in his language. I more or less told him that he knew how to get a hold of me if he could be civil. I never heard from him again. I tried to find him a few times over the years, but to no avail.
Wherever you are, my friend, I hope you are happy and at peace.

...got back some postcards we put together for one of the projects I'm working on at work. My small company has no marketing department, so essentially, I am the marketing department for anything I'm trying to do. I'm pretty impressed with myself!
The color scheme I used (pink & green) is very Cockrum-Legion. I figure I couldn't go wrong with a little Dave inspiration.
