Philip Glass is an avant-garde composer whose work often consists of the same note or chord played over and over and over and over and over. I am not a fan.

Also notable is the fact that he is the cousin of NPR personality Ira Glass, who is kind of a bizarre sex symbol to a certain segment of the female population (well, the kind that tend to listen to NPR).

Wha--? Okay, I may be, uh, somewhat quirky in my choice of imaginary boyfriends, but that's too much even for me.
OTOH, I did hear a couple of Philip Glass compositions on the Evergreen station earlier in the week, and they were actually not bad. A string quartet and then something for a slightly larger group with wind instruments and the like. I mean, you wouldn't mistake them for Tchaikovsky or anything, but they sounded nice and accessible. Like something you could play in Peoria without being thrown out by the bouncers.
